    Default Sound Fix (non english versions)

    If you experience the wrong accents for some factions in KGCM you might want to try this sound fix. Look for the following files below in your main game SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data folder. Then copy all of these text files into the kingdoms grand campaign mod data folder. Open the descr_sounds_accents.txt and add all of the new Kingdoms factions to the corresponding accents. Then in the KGCM sounds folder delete the events.DAT and events.IDX. Now run game and test unit sounds.

    descr_sounds_accents
    descr_sounds_units_confirm
    export_descr_sounds_prebattle
    export_descr_sounds_soldier_voice
    export_descr_sounds_stratmap_voice
    export_descr_sounds_units_battle_events
    export_descr_sounds_units_voice

    @ Dave

    I have extracted all my data files from the main game and from kingdoms, but i doesn't have those above mentioned files in my MTW2 main data directory. There are many files, but the only sound file is the "descr_sounds_db.xml".
    I have the german version of the game.

    I hope someone can help...

    It is important for all those who have non english versions of the game and want to play all these excellent Mods made for (with) english versions only, without any sound problems!

    I want to remind that the main problem for german language versions (and think some others too) is, that the sound files with scottish (irish), mongols and east-european accents are not present in their main game.
    Dave's first post method remain the better (cleaner) method to do... but only if you have this above files in your extracted data directory.
    The German version i.e. don't extract anything of those above mentioned sound files!

    Icon10 Sound Fix KGCM for German version of Kingdoms

    If you have the german version of MTW2-Kingdoms and after installing KGCM (actually v3.7) some factions become mutely or have the incorrect accents??? Then you are in the right place!
    Here a little sound-fix for your little but anoying issue.

    Download this fix and place (or replace) this one in
    x:\Medieval 2 Total War\mods\kingdoms_grand_campaign_mod\data

    Then delete the two files "events.idx" and "events.dat" in the folder
    x:\Medieval 2 Total War\mods\kingdoms_grand_campaign_mod\data\sounds

    It could be possible, that this fix will work for other language versions, too. Maybe also for older and newer versions of KGCM.

    But keep in mind; Always make a copy of all files, you are about to replace or delete.

    Please give feedback....

    Update: This is the 3rd uploaded version of the file, after about more than 60 downloads at all, and one half feedback!
    Last Update: 4th upload with wales added and some corrections (72 downloads at all until now)

    5th update: 102 downloads so far!

    Well, I downloaded the fix and modified it....because I use it with another mod (Lands to conquer)
    Anyway, I saw that you set most faction with Mediterranean accents...and Russians talking like Italians doesn't quite fit....English is the standard-accent of most factions in M2TW (German version)

    EDIT: Oh darn....and it doesn't work...

    i cannot find these files in the main game data folder .. i have my game unpacked .. but i found these files in teutonic order data folder .. so can i replace those files from teutonic oder data folder ?

    cuz i play mostly wid teutonic order my fav .. but in this mod they hav german acent .. i just want to change it to vanila ..

    There is no simple way to use TO accent other than those in the accents-file from KGCM.

    I am a little confused, is this for non English game only? Cause iam using an English install but in UK, but the Irish and Wales factions both have scotish and english accents respectively. i am not sure if tuetogen or norway are similar is this intentional or am i missing somthing?

    Both questions = yes, don't use it if you have the UK version.
