Pride of the Wood-Elves Doesn't sound as good as Pride of the Noldor but neither does it sound bad.
Anyway maybe its better to creat somekind of Lore(Mod world?) questions. This kind of convesation doesn't fit progress topic.

True but only sindar from elves used mainly axes.

But Pride of the Nandor sounds epic.

I'll stick with Pirde of the Noldor. Somehow the Pride of the Noldor was alive in Feanor. The one which brought them to their greatest and saddest days.

You are right and I agree with you.

Quite e discussion here.First,Tolkien wasn't really sure what were the origins of Amroth. There are two stories and he wrote them both-in one of them he was a son of Amdir and in the other he was son of Galadriel and Celeborn. So that one no one really knows.
Second-the Dark elves live in the East, probably near Cuivienen-the Waters of Awakening.I don't know about their strength but I sure know they were the first teachers of Men when they awoke near Hildorien.
Third-I doubt they didn't create a civilization of their own. After all,for all we know, they never fought any wars and they weren't bothered by neither Morgoth nor Sauron. So we could fairly say that they might be very advanced.Which means-we don't know what their weapons or fighting style was,and we don't know how much knowledge they did posses. So it would be an interesting faction to play....

Well how do you think who was a greater elf Fingolfin or Feanor?
Well I think Dark Elves were said to lie alone or in realy small groups. Yet not sure didn't I make it up.

But how could have they become more wise and stronger? Noldor and Vanyar became so great because they were under influence of Valar, Maiar and Two Trees of the Undying Lands. They were probably even lower in strength and knowlege than nandor and nandor didn't form any great kingdoms without sindar and noldor rulers.

Only possibility then is that some Maiar lived with them if they became strong and wise.

If Dark Elves created a Kingdom why would Beor say that they(humans) are turning their back on the darkness? Its not how I would call an advanced Kingdom. Which if existed there wouldn't rather let Morgoths monsters go around eating people.

I think that Fingolfin was greater. He was more wise, chivalrious and noble and probably stronger fighter than Fëanor. Fëanor was greatest smith and in his inner fire was stronger than any other elf had. But persons who made noldor proud were rather Fingolfin, Fingon, Finrod and Turgon rather than Fëanor and his sons, except maybe Maedhros.

Now this is only a little speculation of mine but since you said something about Maiars teaching them...
The only thing we know about Allatar and Palando is that they went to the East. The other thing we know is that they were sent by Orome and we know he is the one Vala who is interested in this part of Middle-earth.So....you see where I'm going with this.

I really don't think that a Light from some trees can make someone stronger or wiser.First of all,you do not need knowledge to be wise.it is something that is within you and no power in the world can make you wiser but yourself.Second, they could become stronger exactly because they never went to Aman and learned from the Valar. The very power that influenced the Eldari was taken from the face of Arda in the Second Age so the High elves diminished in stature, strength and knowledge.think of it like a drug that the Avari never have taken....

I agree except with one thing. The one who made Noldor so proud they chased and wanted to fight a Valar was Feanor. The ones that did great things were in fact those you mentioned, maybe instead of Turgon Ecthelion?
In Silmarillion at the discription of The Battle Under the Stars it was said that even if the Noldor were less in numbers they still had the light of the two trees in their eyes. Which made them stronger.

From Tolkien Gateway, article: Two Trees of Valinor

In particular Thingol is said to have been motivated in the Great Journey by his desire to see the Light of Valinor again (until he finds contentment in the light he sees in Melian's face). Also in later times, the Elves would be divided between the Calaquendi who had seen the light of the Trees, and the Moriquendi who hadn't, with the former group explicitly superior in many ways.
