On the hobbit nonsense, I want to see some hobbit archers as well! If you're going to be able to have a faction occupy the shire, there's no reason in hell that you shouldn't be able to AT LEAST recruit hobbit archer mercenaries (hobbit pony archers? o.O not really a bad idea if you think about it )
Plus, what's more important, book-realism or fun gameplay?

I do think hobbits should be involved in this game, being Hobbit Archers, I don't think a melee unit of Sherrifs would do much good, seeing they are more policemen then soldiers.
Yes. But for ballanse better have two units: melee and range. Tspecially if hobbits will be rebels. If we give them to ERiador - we'll don't have to make secondd unit

The Shire has to be part of Eriador. And I'm not giving you a choice here. They HAVE to be a settlement of Eriador. Not only was the Shire part of Eriador, but if its a rebel settlement the Elves conquer it and kill all the Hobbit every game which is completly against the lore
Its not really about which is more important. Its about trying to get a balance. On one hand, no one wants to go against the lore. Maybe its just me but I don't want to see "Crazy Monkey Nipple Twisters". On the other hand, no one wants this mod to be dull. Its about finding the middle ground. Where Gameplay meets RealismPlus, what's more important, book-realism or fun gameplay?
I really don't understand this thing you have against Hobbits. The Hobbits did defend themselves. They even fought back a Goblin invasion and they defeated the Orcs from IsengardI still opposed to even one hobbit unit

as for the actual unit... I think it would have to be recruitable only in the shire.. something like Thain Cavelry, but not much more
