Oh, well, how likely am I to get any of the bugs you just fixed if I stick with my 4 1.011 campaign, it's going well, and I'm not feeling lucky today?
Thanks for keeping up the great work! Can't wait for a beta or something like that of XC 5...![]()

RS II Map mod 1.5 & 4TPY 1.1 | IB-SAI Alexander Port
just tried out extended cultures. i just wanna ask, why do some cities have negative income? and what is the proper way to start off a campaign as any of the factions with a negative overall starting income like gcs and rome? i started a campaign with the greek city states and now i'm just about to defeat macedon, but i played it on medium/medium, so i don't know if the starting strategy i did would work on higher difficulties. any advice?![]()
i have another question, in the installer, what exactly does the option "Carthaginian Senate" do?![]()
XC economy is not the easiest to manage, I suggest you give a read to a few tutorials: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=358518
That said, the basics to succeed in XC are:
- Focus on your economy
- Use the cheapest army possible to do the job
- Make sure your faction leader is a good manager
Going harder than medium is not suggested until you have some experience, winning an XC campaign is not an easy feat.
The carthaginian senate gives senate missions to Carthage and swaps the roman rebels for the carthaginian senate in Carthago.
thanks, i'll read the tutorials and try a harder difficulty, as it wasn't that difficult to steamroll macedon in my current campaign, especially with my master assasin![]()
the carthaginian senate option doesn't affect the other factions? also i noticed that when i enabled the carthaginian senate option, the julius caesar alternate campaign disappeared, but when i removed it and reinstalled, it's there again. is that normal

Nice choice. Assassins are especially effective against small kingdoms like Macedon or Pontus, but not so much against bigger empires like Ptolemaic or Seleucid.
Carthaginian Senate converts Roman rebels to Carthaginian senate faction, and as such, Caesar campaign which relies heavily on the roman rebels is not playable.
Actually it's more about the replenishment rate, rather than the actual percentages. The lower the number of territories, means less Family members are ready to be recruited (marriages, adoptions, MotH, age), plus the FMs are grouped in a relatively small area, in other words, easy prey. So it often comes down to a single region (ungoverned regions seem quite prone to XC increased unrest) with a FL and possibly a FH (not if you have a gooood assassin) which can easily fall to battle, die of old age, or take him with a longshot assassination.
On the other hand, while it MAY be relatively easier to kill FMs of bigger empires, will not make a big difference in the long run, as FMs can be as easily recruited as slain.
P.S If you have an unnaturally low chance to infiltrate a city, try sending a spy exactly right to it, and send an assassin to check if it is a spy den. If it's not its probably a really paranoid governor and you cannot do much, if it is indeed a spy den, I trust you know what to do.

It's all good philosophy, but in practice it does the same thing I told, at least in my campaigns
Zarax I installed XC converter. What does it actually do?
