I got the game from my friend who isn't all that in too these kind of games I guess. Anyways, I am hoping to play it when I get home. Has anyone else got this game? How is it?
I think I'm going to play as Israel in the new "Whole World" mode .

Never heard of the game, what's it all about?

Basically a modern EU#. I mean, it's nothing like EU3 gameplay wise, but you take over any country in the world and try to guide it to glory. It's very complicated though, I would hazard a guess that it's more complicated than Vicky.
I just played for a little bit, and the map is beautiful. It's a high res satellite photo of the entire world. I even noticed little things, like accurate town names. They even have South Bend, Indiana in there. If the game is to complicated for you, then you can assign your cabinet ministers to do lots of the complicated things for you, and they will send you an email giving you advice and then you make the deciscion. Ithink theres an election system, but I didn't play that far in. When you make your character you also choose your political alignment, conservative, moderate, or liberal (probably goes by American political terminology). Also, I noticed that the political alignment of your ministers seems right, as conservatives were every where in my Israeli cabinet.
Posted in another topic about this as well.
Its good/fun and I enjoy it as well. The main issue I have with it is simply how buggy it is. It has a lot of game breaking bugs, like the load a save game and countries get annexed bug.
Paradox is only the publisher for that though.
The Diplomacy AI is far too stubborn to make peace deals as well. Plus they declare was on VERY dangerous enemies. In my current game i'm ethiopia, i have sudan, eritrea, and somolia under my complete control. I have a massive airforce of Mig-29 Fulcrum Upgrade, very good aircraft in this game, a ton of green berets and helicopters, metal storm tanks and attack choppers (EXTREMELY powerful) and a ton of MLRS and Artillery.... basically the largest army in Africa as well as the most advanced. With this some garbage backwater african nation with no military at all that borders me (i think central africa?) declares war on me.
Basically I just sent in my helicopters and mig 29s and just utterly raped them with that alone, they have no army left and lost half of their country and wont peace.
I think this game has a lot of potential, but right now the AI doesn't even do sea invasions so it needs a lot of work.
This game is a lot like victoria in some ways, I hated it at first due to its complexity but now enjoy it... only the bugs block my enjoying it further.

I played it, and i uninstalled it right after. I agree with Kanaric's points though.
The way the army is handled is awefull, so are the sound effects of the shooting it self.
I really wanted a modern day EU3 but this did not delivr for me.

I'm interested in this game.
A modern view on this sort of games are pretty rare.
But how much can you actually do in the game ??
Is it shallow or deep ??
I don't know, I played SR 2010's demo and it was pretty much bad.

Well I bought it and started a game as Sweden.
And I'm happy to announce that I'm completely lost.
For some strange reason there is explosions going on but it has nothing to do with my country.
Also for some reason I got load of tanks but no one is building them and I can't get rid of them.
But atleast my income is in the green so I must be doing something right.
Your defence minister buys them.

Ah, can you disable that ??
Because I thought I had locked him out of that process.
One thing that pisses me off about this game after playing it is that the AI doesn't use the supply vehicles so they end up getting stuck perminiately on an offensive. I forget if I mentioned that already but I started a new game as Thailand and it just pisses me off.
Plus the Tech Level thing is annoying, why not just create a decent tech tree rather then being forced into permanent stone age even if you have all the technologies that the US has and double the research centers.

I hate these kinda games that have a whole market for themselfs and then it up, the older UFC fighting games did it also.
Eventhough they are bad there is no alternative's

i'm HOPING this will be patched to completion though I hear with 2010 that never happened.

The game is too epic a scale. The battles are too fast and blurry and uncomplicated and the whole thing is WAAAY to complicated
(i played the demo)
