Good new senators now the solstice celebrations are over we can again debate the important matters of politic and trade (though not necessarilly in that order).
Navy, Trade and Politics
Orders were issued to our fleets to intercept and sink any Roman naval vessels. All Roman mechant shipping was to to be raided and their ports blockaded.
Grain shipments were halted from sicily and our merchant throughout the world were ordered to charge at least double if not more when dealing with the Roman dogs - after all commerce is commerce senators.
The purpose of this endeavor is to agitate the Roman mercantile and citizens into open disorder such that their Senate has had no option but to give in to our demands of peace and reparation.
But firstly our fleets have engaged the pitiful excuse of a Roman navay in two actions -
In the north -
The fight -
Our fleet -
The outcome...well it was never in doubt...
Their er..well..I suppose its a fleet for want of any other word after the battle...
Limped away to southern sardinia...
Only to find themselves set upon by our main fleet...
Our casualties from this encounter were a pig who fell overboard during the action and drowned and some scuffing on the prows of our ships as the rams went in....our fleet after the battle...
Hanno awaits the arrival of the fleet in sicily...to embark for Rome...
Our army...
Our allies in southern Italy currently hold Roman attentions....
Phyrrus....
and his son in Tarentum....
Our diplomat
at capua
Offered the Roman senate, *spits on floor*, a way to end their ill planned war and due to ecconomic sactions, our victories at sea, blockades and agitators within Rome the fools agreed, ha ha ha, sorry I do not think the truce will last long though I'm certain that by the summer again they will attack us at Aleria - where our garrison now constist entirely of native hill tribesmen under Cathagian officers - our citizen millitia has stood down and returned to the business of business as is right and proper.
The treaty...as if anyone but a fool would agree...
Foolish Romans...I do not trust them at all....
ceasefire...not for long though...wait for Hanno...
Africa and Iberia will follow.....
