Faction leaders and generals (battle and strategy skins) - V-8 is up!

Think there is a mistake in your Version 3 Barser...
Under World/maps/campaign/custom there is two files which I actually think should be lying in World/maps/campaign/custom/Late_era_campaign

hm.. I got a ctd apparently(unspecific error), but, i dont have jerusalem emerge mod, so maybe thats why i crashed, its the custom_script file that would have to be changed then?

It was save compatible right?

Oh, okay.. but i made some changes within descr_strat file.. which maybe had cause the crash?

Okay but here is a new one just in case.

If it crashes when you start the game up it is probably modeldb atleast that is what my experience so far with this mod tell me.
And if it crashes when you load or start a new campaign it is usually a script or desc_strat error

hm.. Dunno if this would help you.. but i found a thread about the king skin.. maybe you've seen it before, its about a guy who's trying to make the king skin in kingdoms work in the battlefield.

I remember someone disliking the welsh_king skind for genoa. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to make Mongol and timurids have the same models as the egyptians? Just a recolor?

Obbob. you mean kwarizmian, moors and mongols using the turk/egyptian general skin right?
I could probably make skins for them. But there faction should still use the old one (as faction leader) as the only factions. I will probably have to switch some of the strat models though and make some new ones so it all makes sence.
I will see what's the best option.

I have tryed making strat models out of battle models but with no succes. I guess there is a reason we havn't seen any custom one yet :-/

The only thing possible is reskinning them.

I found a strat model mesh for the new age skin but I can't get the faction leader to use it when world is round. It just wont switch to it like with the battle_model.

Well its not the whole world if you cant get the proper strat models, they're pretty decent as they are.. kindly of you keeping us updated on your work, tho!

Hm.. about that erik the bloody guy.. have you uploaded him or is he in the latest patch? Hm, so he should belong to the danish? Erik sound more like a northman, from the sweden/norway areas. But either how i like the character

Erik the bloodys gonna be a special feature . He is a charecter that emergers with denmark in the early campaign in the next update (I like to think of him as a lefteover from the viking times) . I wanted to se if I can make some kind of script that gives you money if you kill a lot with him, Like in the teutonic campaign (if that doesn't work he will just emerge anyways)
He is the only one that uses that skin based of the norwgian king.

I have just taken the strat faction leader models from kwarezmian and moors and made it a battle_model general.
I then switched around the general and faction leader skin for the muslim faction (except mongols as they use a speciel one) and I really think it all looks much, much better now and it fits. It does take 5 min to get used to though.

here is new kwarezm and moors gen. The old skin is only used by there faction leaders. (I will se if I can make them look moore unique before the next update as the moors, turks and egypt looks a little to much the same)



Actually the moors should have had the orange kwarezmian one and the kwarez should be black. So i'm probably gonna change that for both strat and battle models

So I have been working on some of the strat models and the muslim generals is now the same as the battle model. I have redone those model and it looks much better imo.
I have tryed different stuff but not everythinkg works.. Like it seems I can't give TO faction leader strat_model without messing there faction up :-/

I did include the faction_strat model they where suppose to use as there faction leader battle_model though.

Well I thought that dude was on the strat map also as I think I saw him once.. But when I start a new campaign the faction leader don't have that skin for some reason :-/.

I wish there was a way to get him as a battle model but unless you can work with 3d it doesn't seem possible :hmmm:.

I don't know what else to add before the next realese.. I just don't think I have enough contend for an an update as it is mostly tweaking I have done so far.
