It's not a fair contest really. The Milan, Sicily contestant picture is of a modern-ish woman, who obviously is more appealing to our modern tastes, whereas the other portraits look to be from... renaissance(?), therefore representing wholly different era and style, thus being somewhat less pleasant to our eyes :hmmm:

There are no medieval portraits, but I think the Genoese one might also be renaissance.

With sadness in her eyes for not winning the contest, she gets crowned right away, but still pleased as she glances at envious faces of other not so lucky contestants..

And wow..what a thrilling turn of events!

Milan, Sicily wins by far, while Byzantium, Kievan Rus, Venice and England, Scotland end up in a close fight as first and second runners-up!

Denmark, France, HRE, Norway tagging along with 5 votes, but just didn't make it, while Hungary, Poland with 2 & Ireland, Portugal, Spain with 1 vote got left out in the distance!

And who the heck voted for Novgorod?!?!?! Well non the less, their "lovely by medieval standards" representative got 2 votes(must've been because of the new unit roster) and reaped at least some satisfaction!

Sicily/Milan looked a bit odd to me (not attractive). England/Scotland, and Venice etc look far better.

Well in game my Danish Princesses must have been good looking women.

I sent three out (2 sisters and a cousin) to do some diplomacy and they ended up snaring 3 Generals for husbands, 1 English, 1 French, 1 German. One of them went on to become King! (but sadly died a heroic death the next turn when killing the Scottish king in GB vs GB combat.)

(One of my Danish generals got snared by a Princess from Leon-Castile - when he had just set out on crusade!)
