Mod Resources

Each link is to a website someone has found useful in researching this great game we call Medieval II. If you are creating a new mod or just interested in learning about your favorite faction or some great historical battle then please have a look. I was thinking of compiling research people have done and continue to do for submods and mods. Some people are working on very similiar projects and each goes off and spends sometimes hours researching for thier work. So i say lets create a bank of resources for everyone to use. Eventually if possable get a moderator to create maybe a subforum for a subforum or sticky. (or this thread can die with so many others and only you will know my shame).
Anyway if we can keep it neat. Start by naming what the links for. (Map, faction, unit, settlement) Something like this.

Yes Brewskii it does, but i have found if you ask a group of people for a map of say France in the 11 century, you will get about 5 different maps that barely resemble each other. I would like to collect reliable information for modders to use. It will save time in creating mods, so everyone will get to enjoy them sooner. If you have ever created a mod or been a part of mod team you would know that alot of time goes in to research. Usually more than actual editing files. Well almost.

A quick guide to Osprey titles useful for Stainless Steel

The UK military history publisher, Osprey, have, over many years published hundreds of titles on military history, some of which are of relevance to the time frame and geographical spread of the current version of Stainless Steel (6.0/6.1), ie 1080 - 1530 approx. (NB I have omiied books on the Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, the Norman Conquest (1066) and any other titles which cover a period that ends before 1080 or starts after 1540. Also books on the Far east and the Americas.)

They are published in several series and over the years some titles have apeared in more than one series as they have been revised. This can cause confusion. So I've listed the most relevant Osprey titles, with date of publication, and series number, arranged by series.

(This is a work in progress, there's much more information required to make it complete. Any additional information welcome.)

Where author, illustrator and year of publication data information is given that means I have these books myself.
Items with author, illustrator and month and year information from the publisher's website.
Other information taken from lists in the books I have or from other sources.
Information on latest titles from Osprey website, where you'll find a lot more information on titles listed below.
Some early titles may be missing, hopefully as Osprey bring them back into print we can pick up on them.
