You know that kid I was talking about previously, Mushroom?

Well, we were getting along just fine when he talked behind my back in the last day of school.
Anyway, his comments were racist, and he kept doing it. I was getting pissed and you could see it in my red eyes, I told him to stop, he continued.
Finnaly he said, "What are you going to do, punch me? I said, "I might as well". I took a large leap and my punch landed in his jaw, he was skinny, so he fell down and flew about 3 feet, and he was close to tears. Finnaly, the bell rang and I ran out.

Was this the right decison, even though I understand Violence is a last priority, did I make the right decison? I got into no trouble anyway.

Morally I feel what you did was right. I've experienced being Indian and having to deal with racism.

Still legally, what you did was not correct. You can still get in trouble-be careful about what you post and divulge on the internet.

Lastly, you should not need to question what you did was right or wrong. You've already made a decision so go with it.

With all due respect, Youve probably made rascist comments and never noticed it (or have) . Very few people actualy punch each other over it.
I guess ignoring people is overrated since it rarely works, but perhaps you should have done it in such a way that it would be a personal issue with him, Rather then what he will see as a clash of (enter your ethnicity/country/race/religion against his) because it means he will probably tell all his friends and family that you attacked him without provocation and all "your type of people" should be removed from (insert country)

My friends were right behind me, and were going to play a funny joke on me, but they heard his racist comments and listened.

Is your school overwhelmingly white? If so, it's good you displayed your fury, otherwise they will just get more and more abrasive. Playing gandhi is a terrible idea, as was mentioned.

I too had similar elementary and junior high experience. Of course I was known as "the bosnian" or "refugee" for some reason. They did not stop until I lost my cool and bashed some redhead kid's head into a tether ball post. I also befriended a few very large inuit kids who were in my class and had problems with the more idiotic white kids too, after that I was pretty safe. Of course, many of us had to deal with actual violence instead of mere racist taunts so you shouldn't react violently to all verbal assaults all the time.

Focus on dealing with the most persistant and most abrasive cock smokers and leave it at that.

That person (Mushroom) Friends are basically some of my friends, not my best friends, but just friends, anyway, Mushroom is moving next year, and school is over.

And yes, I have developed ways to defend myself without fighting.

What if you are scared wherever you go, that people will tease you for some random reason? What if you are scared to open you're mouth in class and answer the damn questions at times, because people are going to take parts of your answers and tease you about them? This fear I had was locked up inside me before, when I heard his mouth open and call me racial names, there is no point resorting to these so called "peaceful solutions".

As long as you don't talk about any actual details and don't advocate violence it's fine I think. I'm not judging what you did as wrong-sometimes you can be pushed to an edge-especially by racism.

maybe it was better to first push him to the floor and see how he responded on it, if he attacked u or continued with bad mouthing u then u had the right to make him swallow his teeth, but he might have been intimidated and shut his mouth for the rest of the day, which would have been a better case.
