Thread: Comp problems

    My comp has been shutting down alot lately it turns off for no reason, but the last time, when I turned it back on it said CPU failure, needs to be serviced immediatley

    might wanna check your Power supply (hopefully its just that), if not then theres trouble.

    CPU failure, eh? that might be cause for concern. did you get the blue screen of death?
    could be a PSU problem, or it could be a dying mobo as well?
    what was the error message?

    Dust acumulating on your processor/mobo interface perhaps? PSU? go to the BIOS and take note of the voltages you find there and compare those with your PSU's official values, see if there is flutuation of voltages.

    If your PSU is working fine perhaps you may want to check your processor and see if it set properly on the mobo. If pins are contacting right you may have CPU failure at times.

    Other than that your motherboad may be failing (I never thought that could happen till I saw it...not a nice thing to happen, especially if you arent comfortable with fiddling round with hardware).

    its full of dust :erm what do I use to get the dust out, I dont want to screw things up worse tan they already are :blink

    Do you have a little green or red light on your mobo? If so, you've got power to it. next, reset the BIOS with the jumper pin. If you don't know where that is, you CAN take the 3V battery out for a few minutes and replace it. Try that.
