Sinople, would you like some suggestions about west Balkans area? As was already suggested, Hungary is not portrayed very accurately, nor is Croatia and Raska.

    Start year is 1070, right?

I will accept advices after the first beta release, it's always easier to make advices when you can have a look at the map

Thanks a lot by the way

    4. Also I’m pretty sure that Pomerania, or at least its east part with Gdańsk, belonged to Poland in 1072y.
It is said (Medieval chronicler - Gall Anonym - writes this) that Pomeranians rebelled in 1060, during the Polish invasion of Czech Kingdom, and managed to gain souvereignity.

But it is also known, that in 1069 Polish forces participated in Danish invasion of England - because Boleslav II the Brave was Sweyn II of Denmark's ally. In this invasion participated over 300 ships - some of them had to be Polish then. Invaders landed near the outlet of the river Humbry, marched deep down the island, and captured York.

So I think that the Poles had to control at least part of Pomerania in 1069, because if they weren't controling it, they wouldn't probably be able to send their fleet with their soldiers on boards to invade England, would they ?

But it is also the fact, that in 1091 Władysław Herman conquered Pomerania again (and lost it quickly - two years later - in 1093 - but it was later conquered again by his son, Władysław Wrymouth). If he conquered it in 1091, so it seems that before 1091 it wasn't under Polish rule. Of course that does not mean, that in 1072 it couldn't be under Polish control - everybody can see from what I wrote above, that it was a very rebelious, unsteady province - not very hard to conquer for Polish rulers, but much harder to keep it for the long time.

I think that we can assume, that it was under Polish control in 1072 - but with relatively very low "level of annexation".

Anyway - under the Polish rule in 1072 were for shure:

    Greater Poland - Poznan
    Lesser Poland - Cracow
    Mazovia - Płock
    Silesia - Wrocław

    And most probably:

    Pomerelia - Gdansk

Maybe there will be also place to add Sandomierz (Sandomir) ?

Land of Sandomir (or - Eastern Lesser Poland) - Sandomir

    More over:

In Hungary and in Kievian Rus in 1072 there were rulling rulers who had been chosen and put on the thrones by Boleslav II the Brave (in 1069 he succesfully invaded Kievian Rus and put on its throne in Kiev prince Izjaslav, and in 1063 he invaded Hungary to support his follower and ally in Hungary - prince Bela - he did it succesfully too).

These rulers were subjects of Boleslav II the Brave - they were subordinated to him.

Izjaslav was - however - dethroned in 1073 by Ruthenian opposition. That's why (and also because of the pope's request in the name of Izjaslav, who previously asked the pope for help) - Boleslav invaded Kievian Rus again, defeated its army and captured Kiev in 1077. After that he again put Izjaslav on the Kievian throne - and he also incorporated Grody Czerwienskie area (north-eastern part of Halych-Wolhynia also called as Red Ruthenia, with capital in Przemysl and also with important civic centre in Czerwien) to the Kingdom of Poland.

I don't think I have a remaining slot for Sandomir, wait for the final version of the map (trydaelion is the new mapper). I'll send a list of the towns then with pictures and you'll be able to comment

    West balkans should be corrected...

Croat - Magyar border was untill 1102 always on the Drava river as it is today. There has been Magyar invasions but they were always pushed back. For the last time in 1093 when the last native King of Croatia, Petar Svacic expelled Magyar Prince Almos from Slavonia. He was finally defeated by Magyar King Koloman and killed at Gvozd Mountain (from that day Peters Mountain) in 1097. Finally 1102, Croat nobles accepted Koloman as King of Croatia with a treaty called "pacta conventa".

    quote from encyclopedia britannica:
"... Croatia retained its independence under native kings until 1102, when the crown passed into the hands of the Hungarian dynasty. The precise terms of this relationship later became a matter of dispute; nonetheless, even under dynastic union with Hungary, institutions of separate Croatian statehood were maintained through the Sabor (an assembly of Croatian nobles) and the ban (viceroy). In addition, the Croatian nobles retained their lands and titles."

But it is unfair for other factions and is historically inaccurate (England was rather sparsely inhabited).

Some provinces should be removed from the British Islands and some should be added in other regions.

The mod has not progressed since a long time, just because I didn't find the time to upload the mod and the mapper can't do it so.
But this is going to work again soon.

Nice Job so far, I really like it! But I thought Groningen was an important city at that time, at least at the end of your mod it was powerfull enough to do things the other cities didn't like. But I'm not sure about that.

Map looks great but may I suggest?

it's Utrecht and Friesland hadn't conquered all of Holland, It's fine if you do that but make some civil unrest then
