1.5 incompatability

I installed SS 6.1 onto my 1.5 version of MTW Kingdoms. CTD in the menu screen as well as at any attempt to start either campaign.

Having this problem, I deleted everything. And installed MTW 2 and Kingdoms clean. Patched to 1.3 and everything worked.

I read on these forums that 1.5 was working for most people with SS 6.1 so i re-installed the 1.5 patch and lo and behold the CTDs immeadiatly re-appeared.

Any one have any idea why or if there is a way to fix it?

BTW: MTW 2 is in disk form. Kingdoms is in Steam form.

from what I remember there was/is a problem regarding 1.5 patches for steam version of kingdoms when the patch was first issued. (you'll need to go the official site forums for more info.)

Having completed an early era and a late era long campaign without any CTDs and with the 1.5 patch installed (on box versions of m2:tw and kingdoms) I can tell it doesn't cause a problem for me.

The good news is that you don't need the 1.5 patch anyway to play stainless steel 6.1.
