Is BI really necessary for RTR FOE or can I run it with Vanilla?

Long live the Khan
BI is very much needed for FOE. FOE uses quite a few features that are unique to BI.

I'm downloading the Ancient Empires Elysium mod at the moment, and hoping to God it doesn't overwrite original RTW files. I'm running RTW/BI Gold Edition on DVD, with the Rome Total Realism Platinum mod switch, and its awesome! Does anyone know if Ancient Empires will run fine for me?
To the best of my knowledge, AEE is not mod foldered, so you won't be able to use it on an install with other mods, whach are. Personally, I keep a virgin copy of RTW-BI stored away for just such occasions and use multiple installs of Rome where I need to.![]()
Well that sucks... Oh well, I'll simply make a copy of my Rome folder. That guy, I believe he goes by the name of Limes, who's developing AEE said in his forum that he wants to make a mod-switch version. I assumed his post was outdated and he already made one. Anyway thanks for the info!
allow me to praise this mod to untold heights. Ive NEVER played such an rtw mod, it adds what i want added and doesnt add what i dont want. RTR is truly an amazing mod, the best rtw mod ive played as of yetpraise to the creators for making a mod that is very similar to vanilla, yet vastly different
: Playing RTR VI btw
Glad you like it
Platinum is probably the mod I've spend the most hours playing of all... (and what made me join the team)
Where can I download RTR map pack?
"King resorted to a plan for increasing the inhabitants... He opened an asylum. Thither fled, from the surrounding peoples, a miscellaneous rabble, without distinction of bond or free, eager for new conditions; and these constituted the first advance in power towards that greatness." - Livy, "The History of Rome"
"After the conquest of Italy, Rome could mobilize 700 thousand troops (Romans and their allies). That strength could not be matched by any other army. Neither Carthage nor Macedon could mobilize a force, that would even roughly match Rome's numbers." - M. Jaczynowska, "Historia Starożytnego Rzymu"
I'm not familiar with the RTR map pack....can you provide a few more details please.
Former RTR PR Guy & Beta Tester:
I noticed that one player in Rome: Total War online - his nick is zaizaizai - recently hosts games on maps names of which all begin with "RTR".
For example: "RTR: Silk Route Road" (or something like this), and other similar map names.
But he doesn't want to tell me where did he get these maps from. He said that he didn't remember when we played.

Maybe this is what your looking for Global Map Pack v1.2: It contains 18 RTR maps......if not, I have no idea.............
Former RTR PR Guy & Beta Tester:
can i have some help, i dont know which download to do, i have RTW gold so it has BI as well, which download is best and will it effect the BI part?
thanks
Which mod do you want to download?
Former RTR PR Guy & Beta Tester:
i dunno, that's the thing, which is best
RTR VII is the latest release from the RTR team - RTR VII Download Mirrors and Installation Guide
RTR Platinum and ExRM both use BI so you so have no compatibility issues there. They're all good mods but if you want to play the latest RTR mod, try VII.
