Same issue for quite some time, castles sadly get invisible walls.
Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they are in good company.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896647.aspx

Download Debugview, install and put shortcut in quickstart or desktop.

Start SS61 and load a saved game before a BYz castle battle.

Alt-Tab out to your desktop and run debugview. Go back into SS61 and start castle battle.

After castle battle loads in battlemap, alt-tab back to desktop, turn off auto scrolling in debugview and enter a search for worldpathfinding in the log, using edit/find from the Debugview menu.

The worldpathfinding file is referenced in the castle world file, this will show where the game is looking for it and why it isn't loading, causing the walls to be permeable...

Couldn't we just circumvent that and manually edit files to say 'look here'?

I'm also curious to know how work's going on Orthodox churches. I can't help but feel envious when I'm storming a catholic settlement, seeing their churches!

Ideally, yes, but from what I understand it's more work to implement. I'd rather have Orthodox churches everywhere but no Hagia Sophia, than Hagia Sophia in Constantinople but no Orthodox churches.

Just for testing a while back I created a special "wonder" ; there is only one techtree slot in the huge city model that will fit the huge cathedrals, the techtree model is for byzantium only, and adding the wonder entry to the EDB will make it appear only in Constantinople, with it's own textures, while other Byz huge cities have the normal cathedrals ( or they can have special Byz cathedrals, yet to be created).

When KE and Anthonius get the world modification tools completed a realistic rendition of the Hagia could be created for this slot.

I finally took Constantinople with my Rebel Federation armies and took a screenie a few days ago..

Hmmmm, is that a beta? Are you going to lose the minarets?

Any word on the broken castle walls, Wolfslayer?

I haven't decided on a alternate file host yet. Have a few days off so I might work on that.

Been working on some southern_european textures converted to northern_european settlements, well suited for eastern_european cultures.

These settlements should work with any kingdoms mod that has byzantium as a faction.

As far as the ubiquitous "pathfinding bug" is concerned, I've never encountered it, and tested all the settlements on the battlemap before I uploaded, so without some debug data I really can't narrow down the reason for those who have mentioned it.

That is not the Hagia Sophia.

That is a monstrosity with minarets.

I think it is known as a mosque.

If this is suppossed to be the byzantine version of Hagia Sophia it does need to have the minarets removed since those were added by the Ottomans after they conquered Constantinople and turned it into a mosque.

Read post #89 very carefully before you feel compelled to post sneering comments on this thread.

"When KE and Anthonius get the world modification tools completed a realistic rendition of the Hagia could be created for this slot."

    No need to worry though.

A model of the Hagia will never be created or uploaded by me, though anyone is free to do so; it's just an example of filling a tech tree slot with a specific building.

I came, I saw, I went away again.
