Ok,

1) make sure you have installed the patch IJV2.01a.

2) delete the quotes.txt file found in the IJ/data/text folder
3) delete the descr_quotes_lookup.txt file found in IJ/data folder
4) delete the descr_transition_screen.txt file found in IJ/data folder.

That should work. Let me know how that goes.

You might also want to choose to play with the CA Strat map instead of the IBDF one.

kinda hard to play kidarites(or fight them) without the ibfd map.
meanwhile the romans were fixed, but all others mess up..good god! the Romani are a bloody mess! I'd have to either parallel pain, or on hashish to play as them

-Medina was called Yathrib before islam.
2- many had small, if any armies, and were small in overall size (no more then 1000-2000-town level). Hira would have been the biggest. uknown population, thoufgh no more than 10000 (small city level)
3-wasn't petra a protectorate of rome? maybe including it into roman territory would simulate that.
