    Default "All Factions Horde"

    I have already asked this in the PI forums, don't know if it has been answered here...

    is it possible that this feature can be included? I use it in Stainless Steel, and it adds a lot of fun to the game.

    (note: if it must be faction specific, that's cool.)

    Just wondering.

    This will probably sound stupid and Roman-centric, but, Could you use that ability for the roman legions? I was alway angry when rome attacked me with small armies and weak units. I want the tough, unbeatable roman army to give me a challenge mid way into the campaining game!

    To expand upon what Foot wrote, I expect that we'd want this to happen for all major factions. However, hordes are not the way to do it.

    Unbeatable? Hannibal, Surena and Arminius are begging to differ.

    What I am interested in is, will dead factions be able to come back by rebellion?

    Probably yes. At least MAA spoke greatly of that feature.

    However, there should be some requirements whether to an entire faction getting back from the dead.

    But wouldnt nomad factions horde when their last settlement is taken?

    The horde ability may be needed for factions to reemerge, so it may be a good feature. However, having every faction magically spawn a huge military force once they are defeated is something to be avoided.

    Perhaps you misunderstand me. As I understand this little script, it ONLY takes the remaining stacks and makes them still under the control of the faction. No gay random armies spawns or anything like that.

    Could it at least be implemented in this form?

    For many factions that probably wouldn't makes sense. How can an empire exist without any territorial holdings?

    This would make sense only if the game's engine gave the ability to found a colony or a new city. Of course there is the case of Athens that although pillaged by the Persians did not signaled the extinction of the polis. On the contrary.

    Nomadic and Germanic factions would form hordes if they were driven out of their territory. However, we are talking about displacements, not conquest. In other words, I doubt the Germans would have formed a horde after being conquered by Romans, who would not have tried to displace them. Also, one has to wonder whether hordes as the engine represents them are realistic. I don't have M2:TW, but in BI it was occasionally ridiculous: you'd conquer the last, tiny settlement of a exhausted faction and suddenly they get several stacks containing more soldiers than there were people in the town.

    But like cursed said, what if u guys make it on such a way that the horde faction wont receive any troops when it has lost its last settlement? Some factions surely would do this and this wouldnt overpower them.
