Loading another save file

I'm trying to play in a hotseat campaign for BC and I can't seem to load anyone elses save files on to my game. I have all the options and I believe I have all the updates they have, and still seem to be having the trouble.

To help, I have the Gold Edition of Medieval 2. I didn't know if it made a difference or not.

I aint too savvy with the whole multiplayer thing, so i suggest browsing this forum for any help

i'm thinking it may be a compatibility issue (things like updates, modded edus or game files), have you changed anything in the game? What patch for M2TW and BC do you have? Maybe language version may come into it.

but hopefully someone who has experience with multiplayer may also post here.
