    Default Kingdoms: Crusader Knight mod

I've often heard that the Crusader States in the Crusades campaign is too easy; I've also read about how the Crusader States suffered a chronic lack of manpower. With those two facts in mind, I've tinkered with the stats for the knights of these factions. First, I standardized the stats-- the knights of Jerusalem, Antioch, Edessa, Tripoli, and Templar Confrere knights now have very similar stats; low-tier knights have been bumped slightly, and higher-tier knights brought down to their levels. To preserve the superiority of Jerusalem's cavalry, its knights are a bit cheaper than Antioch's, though the stats are pretty much the same. Also, Templar Confrere Knights have higher morale than their counterparts.
Second, I severely restricted the availability of these knights as well as the Templars and Hospitallers. To make up for it, the stable line of buildings grants increasingly large experience bonuses, from +1 for Knights' Stables to +4 at King's Stables.
Also, just for kicks, I tweaked the stats of the order knights to differentiate them; Templars have slightly better charges, Hospitallers have slightly better melee defense skill.
This means that while the crusader states have limited access to knights, they do tend to be a bit more powerful, though not enough to cancel out the nerf. It also means that you don't really get access to better knights as you go along (until you get order knights, at least), you just get more of them.
Please note that I haven't touched foot knights, nor the knights of Venice or the Latinkon; that's a bit more than I'd like to do.

Installation (so the noobs out there won't have to go through the same learning process I did): put these two files in your C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\crusades\data folder. Then go to the shortcut you use to launch the Crusades campaign, open up Properties. The "Target" field should read something like:
    "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\kingdoms.exe" --features.mod=mods/crusades
    Change it to
    "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\kingdoms.exe" --features.mod=mods/crusades --io.file_first
Make sure there's a space before the dashes.
