why not as Generals?, not only the most "famous" heroes

such as Imrahil of Dol Amroth who had elven blood like his powerful knights

elrond, (his sons maybe), glorfindel (me)

    eomer

and so many others, it's better not to start the campaign with unknown captains
    .
Glorfindel, the Lord of the House of the Golden Flower

...Glorfindel was tall and straight, his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy, his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music, on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength...

... the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power...

I would like something like that, but I just don't want the main characters from the LOTR books and movies such as Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli.

Ok, then its gonna be a period before the battles of the Lord of the Rings. :hmmm: I like the idea, in that case put gimli and legolas as generals is ok, about the story i mean.

Really I didnt read the books, but i know that they fought in other battles, but aragorn :hmmm: i dont know...

Same. Gimli and Legolas were basically faction heirs; just set them as such. Call the Mirkwood General's Bodyguard "Elven Guard" and have them carry longbows...that way Legolas can show off his pimpin' marksmanship.

We probably won't have Aragorn. But he was doing his Ranger stuff.

in the war of the ring(the books/movies) Aragorn was nearly 90 years old due to the lifespan of Numenoreans(in fact he lived for 210 years), so he should be more young and with Rangers fighting evil...

if Legolas was a general of elven archers he wouldn't use a bow, only his men

The name of Theoden's dad is Thengel and Aragorn was also in service for Ecthelion, the father of Denethor.

Thats true and if you wont include him in a main faction maybe you could, if possible, make him a rebel general who wont attack the forces of good??

Aragorn wouldn't be good because according to the books at the time just before the Lord of The Rings he fought for Gondor, then Rohan and then served as a protector of the Hobbits and did stuff that Gandalf and Elrond told him to do. He would be too busy to lead many military forces for either the Elves or any one faction.

He gets crowned king of Gondor sooner or later, though, and could then lead the armies of this kingdom against Mordor (which he did in the books as well, he marched against the Black Gate).

Yep, so he can be an emergent figure that comes on when a certain event is achieved if the modders wish this.

Are you going to make Balrog of Moria an assasin?
