Agreed. Even IF he left Moria, it's doubtful that Sauron could get him to work for him, let alone all the lesser evil factions.

More likely he wouldn't want to be discovered by one of the Elf Lords, like Glorfindel (who slew a Balrog in a single duel, which temporarily killed him too).
