So I'd like to know more about the magic techs in WA.

What are they good for / how can you use them in battle.

And how do you use power-ups to create a unit?

Show (link) examples if possible, plz.

Everyone has a different idea of how strong magic is, and I don't think we ever agreed how good it would be. The power ups you just add to the cost. so if your unti is a fire mage with the first upgrade, he would cost 100 (for fire magic) plus the cost of the first upgrade, which I do not remember the price currently.

But if i add power-up to a fire mage let's say, will it enhance its attacking power?

Yes it should. Otherwise power ups would be useless.

The different "schools" of magic give a unit the capability to use the powers affiliated with that kind of magic.
Power-ups increase the magical strength of a sorcerer meaning he can do more difficult tasks and tires slower from using magic.
You can virtually try to do anything with magic...if it works is up to the mod of the battle. For example if you want an earth-mage with no power-ups try to create a giantic earthquake this will fail 100% and probably kill him because he exhausted himself too much.

but, if you've got a 200,000 dollar supermage... as I do... well dang you get the picture. its like 2,000 royal guards bundled into a single man...

I would always consider though that 3x 210.000 units can only be in 3 places at once. 6.300 royal guards (which are already a considerable force) can be in 6.300 different places at once theoretically.
That's why I would advise you against using superunits for anything else than a few specialized task or just for flavour instead of as a main fighting force since when it comes to an actual battle the masses will probably win

Silo, you may want to put commas instead of periods when typing numbers. Someone may not know that that's how they do it in Europe.

Well, for the same cost, you could have troops in 6,300 different spots, compared to 3 spots. Which is logical. but most people make special units just for flavor. Like me with krakens. Although they pwn you all...

If the 6.300 Royal Guards were split up into three groups of 210.000 Royal Guards, they would beat the one mage worth 210.000, so yeah, Numbers count.

Except for when you're charging masses of militia at a wall of Halberds......
