Play your RM with BI (special thank to Baron von Manteuffel)

Installation (step by step)

1. Install RTW with BI.

2. Patch your BI to 1.6 ( your RTW will be patch to 1.5 automatically)

3. Apply your Non-CD files ONLY IF you are using Non-CD total war. Make sure your Non-CD files is for BI 1.6 version.

4. Install RM2.0. It is recommended to use
<<http://files.filefront.com/RM2+betam.../fileinfo.html>>
The installation directory should be your RTW directory
"For example: D:\GAMES\Rome - Total War\"

5. Apply the latest hotfix (currently Hotfix6 as of May 10) from
<<http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=153573>>

6. Creat shortcut ( very important )
Creat a shortcut of your BI.exe. Right click on the shortcut and select properties.
Change the Target of shortcut to the following:
"D:\GAMES\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:RomeMedievalMOD -nm -show_err
Change the Start in of shortcut to the following:
D:\GAMES\Rome - Total War\

Then, you are good to go.

Anyone knows which one is better, BI or ALX?

There are some elements from each that are good. BI has more naval activity, whereas ALX's AI retrains it's units instead of always recruiting new ones. The cool thing about BI is the extra formations it has, like Shieldwall and Schiltrom. When the next full version is released, I'm potentially planning to make a modded version for people who have BI that takes advantage of these new formations (after all, wouldn't it be cool to see your Huscarls form a shieldwall like at Hastings), and maybe even take advantage of the extra faction slot given by BI, who knows . All hopefully with LOTK's consent of course.

I can't play custom battles! Campaign (and RTS battle) works fine, but when i choose custom battle and I'm ready to play it redirects me to faction choosing menu (i have latest hotfix) whats wrong???

are you running RM2 with BI or RTW? is there any error message?
if with BI,try to play custum battles with RTW,if there is still a problem,we will solve it togather in RM2 errors thread.

Im playing RM2 on BI, there is no error message, when I start the custom battle it always redirect me to faction choosing menu.

PS: In RTW 1.5 all works fine.

Yes it doesn't let you play custom battles, and medieval(former imperial) campaign.I think it's because there is a RomeMedievalMOD folder that using RM requires.

Can you release separete fix for ALX exe, I mean files with Immortal trait added.....

I don't know if anyone still come to this thread but to play the medieval campaign in BI go to custom campaign and then click on medieval campaign

Yest but ummm... custom battle dosen't work on BI, only campaign. So It's better to play on 1.5

Make two shortcuts, one for BI, and one for RTW 1.5, If you want to play custom battles, use RTW, if you want to play campaign, use BI.
