    Is it recommended to use patch 1.5 with SS6.1?

    No, it's not because some people have been having unnecessary problems with the patch. I however, am fine.

    It's up to you, I wanted it bad because my 8800GT couldn't display vegetation shadows without it.

    Well, I guess I'll try to play with the patch then. I'm definetly not going uninstall the patch. I've gone through way too much trouble.

    But what problems are people having with SS6.1 and patch 1.5?

    I tried two ERE campaigns on an install patched to Kingdoms 1.5, and each came to a grinding halt after 40 - 50 turns: an EOT CTD which prevented me going any further.

    Then I loaded SS 6.0 onto my old install, patched to Kingdoms 1.4, which I, thankfully, hadn't deleted - result - no problems at all.

    I'm not saying that Patch 1.5 was definitely to blame - but it is a coincidence! :hmmm:

    I have kingdoms patch 1.5 and SS 6.1 and the only CTDS i have had are from the campaign selection menu. My current campaign is 160 turns in.

    Many of the problems are CTD's, I haven't read of any others.

    I myself, have run into a couple campaign selection menu CTD's (which is normal), and 2 crashes while ending turn (ending it with a reload fixed it).

    Lol I have the same problem but with an ATI HD2600 XT.

    I think I'm mistaken then, It was all cards that supported DX10 I believe.

    I've got both, and I have no issues, just a CTD here or there at the menu screen (campaign selection, custom battle etc). Very rare.

    Running SS6.1 with kingdoms 1.5 patch.

    at turn 120 and no problems SO FAR.

    (we had the same situation with SS6.0 I seem to remember, but I don't think any of the CTDs were down to the 1.5 patch.)

    we'll have to see what bugs lie beyond turn 140-160 which is as far most people got in SS6.0 before it CTD'd.
