NO Iceland???

I do not want to be disturbing so this is just a question.

Looking to the supposed map I was just surprised there is no Iceland and further lands so no chance to fight with skraelings? I know of course there was no precedent of any major battles but come on! we are all here to find some alternative history, are we?

Secondly, despite I am 100% Russian I seriously would prefer to cut a little from Russian plains - Gardariki was something too common to vikings still traveling to Miklagard/Byzantium. Of course it is clear to me (after all) that Russian states was completely under the influence of "varjags". Consider Rurik as founder of all the nation can scarcely be overestimated )) Still though is there any need of this portion of land in the east?

And of course I think some Ireland should be represented taking into account that the battle of Clontarf is one of the most epic battles in all Scandinavian sources and is very influentical to (Njals saga and the another true masterpiece - Valkyrie's song, not to speak of Brjans saga)...

I understand there is too mauch work to do. You know this is your mod and I am just a "potential market". You are the vikings indeed but for the rest of the world are not just another faction. It is you who discover the new continent even my children knows this.

I think in the next version of Medieval Wrath of the Norsemen, they might add Iceland and parts of the New World. I don't speak for the developers though, I'm just a fan.

What map did you see? It was most likely very outdated.

Iceland will be included, but we will not have Greenland or America on the map, atleast for the first version.

we'll also make the rivers in Russia sailable.

Thanks for the clear answer! Making Rus rivers sailable is certainly very good idea! I should hate to say any banality but this is most awaited mod to me. Scandinavia could bring just completely new philosophy to this game

Iceland and further islands wouldn't make a whole lot of sense, despite Iceland's rich Viking heritage and culture. This is Medieval TOTAL WAR. The only wars in Iceland were family feuds, not much for conquest.

Gísli Súrsson was nothing else than a farmer who got excommunicated because he killed he's sisters husband who killed Gísli's brother. He's famouse because it's written a saga about his little familyproblem. He managed to stay hidden for many years, beeing the one who survived second longest after beeing excommunicated on Island. It's an interesting saga btw, recommend reading it

In Icelandic, yes. Unfortunelately, only Icelanders speak Icelandic.
In Norwegian, we'll keep saying Miklagard and Skrælingar.

norwegian is danish without the accsent.
Icelandic however hasn't changed a lot in 900 years.

I'm not even going to point out how you blatantly ignore the fact that a large part of Norwegian dialects went untouched by Danish reign, such as in West coast Norway. These dialects developed independently of Danish.
Not everybody's stuck in the Dark ages, you know.

my point is that the norse spoke westren but not eastren norse.
And Iceandic and feorues(SP?) are the only ones left of that.

The Norse didn't speak Eastern Norse?
Yes they did, The Svear, Gautar, Gutar, and Danes were also Norse.

Also, Norwegian has also descended from Western Norse.
Færøyingar/Faroeings and Icelanders all came from Norway.

Be honest now: do you really know anything about these matters at all? Or are you just making it up as you go, tailored support your own magic fairytale world?
