Some of the war themes are really exciting.

I haven't played Civ V, but I put many, many hours into Civ IV and loved the music. I especially loved the main menu music.

I remember booting the game up for the first time, listening to that music and thinking, 'yeah, this is going to be awesome'. Not many games have had such a memorable opening track for me.

Ooh really? I should get it just so I can watch Squall stumble about in the dancing scene again. Do you know if it will be an enhanced edition like Baldur's Gate or completely redone?

japanese culture regarding work is kind of sacred, so they will try to remain as original as they can.

My bet is kind like those HD versions of the games, a bump on textures and optimisations for new hardware and OS.

I already use a mod for high textures, but the background is problematic, while I do have the movies in HD, we don't know how to insert them in the game.

I will buy it, so I can see squall face palming in HD quality

You can't discuss/play Civ 5 without the obligatory video you have no choice in watching --

Byzantine / Netherlands / Rome have been goto factions for me on Civ 5. Was doing a game as Mali for old times sake (Mansa Musa Civ 4 yeah!). I had the Brave New World DLC on the go for it, but when the DLC first came out it was littered with bugs. Haven't gone back to that game since - will do eventually. That ever-belligerent Montezuma needs to be taught a lesson for the millionth time!

I played 2 games of civ 5 last night, incredibly I doze off in the middle of it.

Im a strange man who finds the building part more interesting than the pretend fighting of that game

well the combat part was never brilliant in the civ series, but I don't like to be as limited as in city building as the current best strategy makes you do.

at tops I have around 4-5 cities in this game and I still have the same amount of income as I would have with 10, except with fewer resources

I just always hated that the ai pretty much always builds its cities in incredibly stupid spots, and you have to build the city up yourself into anything useful since all the buildings will be lost so if it's past the ancient age the city will never catch up or be useful basically.

Looks like Steam has some good sales today. Anyone recommend these? I see they have Skyrim for $7. I already have it for 360, but I'm tempted to get it for the PC for the mods. It doesn't come with the DLC, and I don't want to have to buy those. Do any of the good mods require the DLC?

Civilization V Gold edition for $24?

Get it from Amazon. Civ V Gold + Brave New World Steam codes for $20 all together over there.

Almost none of the Skyrim mods require any of the DLC's. You should absolutely get Skyrim for PC for a mere $7. And immediately download SkyUI. Do it!
