can somebody tell me how to edit the time it takes to construct buildings as I play on .5 tpy and wanted to make it more realistic.

If you're doing a construction project, then it will look better not going from night to day 100+ times. get two cameras at different angles. This will allow you to cut back and forth, which make the final piece MUCH less boring
