I dislike the logic being used to discount the GastraphetesThe steam cannon was also invented in ancient Greece and just because it disappeared doesn't mean it wasn't effective
Try telling people that the steam cannon wasn't effective

Will Romans and Carthaginians be the most "easy" factions like EB1? It seems Carthage will not be as easy as it was, since Numidia exists, but what about Romans? Everything that could make them harder to play will be very welcome (at least of my side)![]()
I think its far more likely that the technical skill and knowledge required to create the Gastrephetes and Archimedes steam cannon was extremely complex, and not widely understood or known. This is why they both weren't widespread. It has nothing to do with their effectiveness or practicality. Tisk tisk EB team.
The CAI of M2TWK is far more superior compared to RTW 1.5 (and even BI/ALX) so Roma can't just sit around in Italy and conquer where it wants to, there are enemies at all sides....
Same goes for Carthage, AI-Roma will surely launch naval invasions, and the colonies will be in pressure all day long...

Apologies if this has already been mentioned.
I heard your incoperating the armour system to produce the reforms?
In SS 6.4, with the RR, some units only become available after or before certain events.
Would that be easier to implement into EBII?
The armour system allows us to use less unit slots for one and let us portray the evolution of certain units well enough. Of course the other system will also be used to depict more radical changes or new developments. We'll be trying to work these thing out rather intricately and detailed and will hence make use of as much functions as we can.
Hey quick question what is the ETA of the next faction preview?
Not known, a sort of mini preview will be due shortly though.

Will money be as tight as they were in EB1? I think it's very important to have the concern of money and decide at every turn how to spend it than to have a large treasury and don't care at all, build everything, recruit everyone.
The issue of money in EB1 was excellent, it clearly seems you did a lot of work on this, too, and the goal was achieved at its best. i guess you are going to do the same at EB2, just want a confirmation.

Will recuiting units lower the population of a city?
Will there be a slavery option when capturing cities. Like in RomeTW.
Q1: Because the result looks appalling. EB1 uses RTW 1 models, and M2TW models are "bigger" with different skeletons; EB1 tried to balance skin resolution with hardware specs from ~2006 so resolution is often just 256x256 as opposed to 1024x1024 or better for EB2. Skins are compressed with a lossy algorithm so you can't simply upscale or cut & paste because saving will require new compression so more detail is lost i.e. progressively worsening the result.
Toon Total War was able to port numerous models from RTW models, with stunning detail in a few months even by M2TW standards and you know we got mods like Third Age, CoW, BC and WotW.
maybe you can check out his techniques? anyways his mod was shut down because of a misunderstanding during release and it just became a mess.
try talking to him, maybe he has a solution because he certainly was able to do it so why not you?
when this mod relise?
@Toho: As unitwise we are getting close at finishing the first batch of units for the first release we might indeed focus some of our modelling/texturing on other game elements.
