Just interested in why the change in title for the leader of Novgorod to Duke. In the Chronicle of Novgorod, the ruler is always referred to as Knyaz
Knyaz is a Duke.
In SS the Novgrod ruler was a "Grand Duke", and a "Velikiy Kniaz" in the death event.
Doesn't really matter if we change it to Knyaz, what matters is that Kievan's hold the title of "Velikiy Kniaz" or "Grand Duke", or more accurate, the "High King".
+rep for this effort. Looks good, gonna give it a try. Thanks a lot!
Good work Gracul. Those sort of things always really annoy me during campaigns, but I haven't bothered to go fix them myself.
Do you plan on making this fix pack any larger?
The reason I ask is that I fixed a knights of montesa texture, but it has quickly fallen off the first page and I would hope that it would make its way into a fix pack eventually.
see http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=160946
and include it if you wish.
Always Underfoot...
Sure, ill include it in an update, thanks
Quagga, can you tell me what your fix does exactly do? i do not seem to see any difference.
Im sorry to sound stupid, but how do i install this? (pretty new to this)
Unpack it in .\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\
It should overwrite some files in the data folder.
Next ver with an installer then.
Did anyone check that it was save compatible?
I guess better not to risk, these are not game play changes but only touch-ups and minor bug fixes.
I went ahead and did it (backup first of course), found no problems whatsoever, and all the fixes appear to be working. Looks like you've updated again. +rep
Hey Gracul - I had uploaded the wrong fileQuagga, can you tell me what your fix does exactly do? i do not seem to see any difference.
It's actually the attachment set - I updated that thread with the correct file and where it goes:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=160946
Basically this fixes the knights of montesa armour upgrade (both mounted and dismounted) as one of them used to have a shield texture wrapped around his head (you could see the montesa symbol on the back of his helmet).
I just replaced this with the right helmet texture from one of the other files .

Hey, a small update which includes KoM fix by quagga.
+ does anyone feel like writing a small description for campaign of Novgorod, Kievan Rus, Mongols?
Nice work.
Title for king in both Denmark and Norway is konungr, while prince is buðlungr for Denmark and dǫglingr for Norway.
The historical name for Oslo is Ásló and Bergen is Bjørgvin.
Heres some help on the family tree of Norway.
Early:
The king was Olav Haraldsson (30 years old) and his lover was Tora Jonsdatter (35), and their child was Magnus Olavsson (7). Other characters is bishop Adalbrikt (unknown age).
Late:
The king was Haakon Haakonsson (16 years old). Other characters are Skule Baardsson (31 years old) who was a jarl of Norway and his wife was Ragnhild Jonsdatter (42 years old), and archbishop Guttorm (unknown age).

Hey Gracul, TempestKahn made a small mod changing the southern european castles to the kingdoms' ones - maybe with his permission you could include it?
See this thread:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=161190
Also maybe you could change the text for some of the other factions?
ie Turkish --> Seljuk (Seljukian??)
Egpytian --> Fatimid
Byzantine --> Eastern Roman Empire
etc
I believe Ceasar Clivus already did some of these in a separate mod.
Also nice one removing faction intros!

@hekk
Well, if Konungr is a direct translation from "King" then i guess there is no need to change it.
See, "Knyaz" is not a direct translation of "duke" or "prince", thats why i use the direct word from their mother language. I'll change the settlements in the next update, later add the families.
@quagga
Ok, thanks for reminding me on that one, i've changed them.
Something about this account reminds me of a former member of TWC...
