I'll be the voice of criticism. Your units look nowhere near as good as vanilla units. They should have more polys, slightly better shaped arms, and without bump mapping they look really flat.
It's a great base though; could we see some anti-aliased screenshots?
I think it's mostly the lack of bump-mapping and the poor-looking cape textures on the armored units. Bump mapping would really help.

It's almost as though whoever took the screenshots has their M2 game playing on low quality.

No, it couldn't - the screenshots are obviously cropped, and either way I am talking about the amount of detail present in the units, not the size of the picture.

Ah. Regardless, what Unit Quality setting were these taken on? If it's on Highest, you could definitely use some fairly major tweaks to your textures and to a lower extent the models.
I'm not attempting to knock the quality of the work - it's pretty good - but I think that you could probably do a whole lot better with not a lot of effort if you just worked on the right things.

with the normalmap all right. Their original appearance STRONGLY depends on direction of light. In game they look absolutely normally.

Well, regardless; if you have applied normal maps to the units, they don't really show well in the foggy evening they're in right then. Could you humor me and take a picture of them in, say, a brightly lit desert at Midday, with some higher anti-aliasing applied in the program itself?
I'm only asking because if the units are better looking than they appear in that screenshot (to be fair - the 'fog' setting doesn't really do any of the units in vanilla justice either), you're not doing yourself any justice by advertising screenshots that don't look quite as good as they could be.

Friend - a long ago outlived that time when offended me or irritated a critic. I perfectly know that criticism allows to perfect the abilities.
BUT! Pictures of screen which are in prev'yu is a not final version. I showed them in order that to show progress of development. And they serve this purpose perfectly.
