After the War of Wrath (when Melkor was defeated) most Noldor were pardoned and allowed to return to Valimar.
Now, Galadriel was either exempted from the pardon because of her part (as a leader figure) in Feanor's rebellion or she simply refused the pardon because, as was said, she wanted to stay and rule a kingdom of her own.
The 2nd version does sound more feasable but who knows...

Actually the 2nd versions mentioned in Unfinished Tales. And I mean Kingdoms
King Kong rules a kongdom for example, so no, you mean Kongdom.
Great job!! I like the eldars the most.
Wow i read your conversation and you really know a lot about lotr.
From what I read in Unfinished Tales I barely remeber a thing. I remember the most the story about the Turin and his story.
Maybe i should read it again sometime...
Vanyar (sp?) Elves = the Spear Elves, mostly blonde, once upon reaching valinor they never returned to ME except in the First Age to help throw down Melkor/Morgoth in the last battle. Noldor Elves = the Sword Elves, moostly dark haired and eyed, but not always. Teleri Elves = the Bow and/or Sea Elves, the archers and shipbuilders, includes the Sindar (axes as a favored weapon type in the First Age but by no means their only weapon of choice), Silvan and Avari, various shades of hair I guess, forgot.
Noldor hair color goes from Dark to intesive Red; if one of the parents are a Vanyar of a Noldo, the Children tend to have fair hair, but if the Second Generation Vanya/Noldo gets children with a Noldo, their children gets Noldorean haircolors.
Teleri/Sindar/Silvan/Nandor haircolor is mostly dark too, but there are some who has grey/silver hair too.
Interesting. Some very few of the Noldo, though I forget which noble house, had blonde hair. Didn't Glorfindel the Noldo lord have blonde hair, at the Ford of Bruinen??? Was a rarity though for the Noldo to have blonde hair.
Didn't the Vanyar, the Spear Elves that stayed in Valinor except for their one return to ME for the last battle against Morgoth, also have blonde and maybe red hair?? Doesn't matter since they won't be in an ME mod anyway.
Glorifindel had probably a mixed parentege Noldo/Vanya. But when you look at the House of Finarfin's haircolors, the Third Generation who are of mixed Noldo/Vanya/Noldo parentege have dark hair.
Vanyar have only fair hair

Interesting. What was the noble Noldo house that had blonde hair in the First Age?? I disticntly remember that but can't remember what noble house it was, and I also remember Tolkien (or someone) writing that blonde hair was extremely rare for Noldo and it made these Noldo stand out greatly from the crowd.
How come you think Glorfindel was/may have been of mixed Noldo/Vanya lineage, and it is possible he was the same Glorfindel from the First Age that slew the Balrog and died but was ressurected.
Hmmmm??? I wonder if Elves ever got haircuts or dyed their hair.
Glorifindel of Gondolin and Glorifindel of Imladris are the same. He was ressurected like you said and sent back to ME.
I hardly believe Elves would dye their hair, thats a sign vanity and that hardly fits the Elves, haircuts of the other hand would IMO vary from Elf to Elf.
The House of Finarfin is the only "blonde" Noldor house I believe.
Ahhh, it was the house of Finarfin, but they were part Vanya as you point out.
Yeah, I was joking about the hair dyeing, but they had to cut their hair sometimes as a 2,000 or so year old length of hair would be awful long!!!
Some people argue that it wasn't the same Glorfindel, but a lot of people think it was. i like to think he was the same fellow/elf as it just adds to the story.
Tolkien did directly say that they are the same
In one of Christopher's books and/or in the FotR book?? I know I have read the passage(s) and the arguments both pro and con. Glorfindel will make a good character in the mod.
Dunno where, but they are the same.
It may be in the Letters/HOME/Unfinished Tales.
