It is incredibly hard to mod females into a mod, and there's also the fact that like humans, elven females did not fight in battle, the rare exception being Eowyn (female human) and Luthien who I believe did some arrowplay in the Silmarillion. Thats the only instance.

The movies bastardized the books in that respect, and I find the less things the mods imitate from the movies, the better.

Agree. In fact, I would just ignore WETA. The helmets they designed for the Elves in the 2nd Age were cool, but the body armor was lame, and the swords even worse. Tolkien was describe basically elevated forms of humanity...not bloody ants or tarrantulas, save the "natural forms" for nature.

Tolkien explicitly mentions the Elves wearing mail or scale. If anything, give the Elves scale armor (ranting at WETA), but what they did to the Elves was incredibly lame and sad.

I wish we could have seen more realistic equipment on Elves who fought in Last Alliance. It would have been so amazing if we had seen Noldor with two-handed longswords cutting their way through hordes of Orcs to Barad-dûr.

Yeah WETA royally screwed up with the Elves, imo. They kind of ruined people's perception of the Elves and especially Tolkien's own elves.

The second age Elves wore both mail and scale (diagonal overlaid bands) in the films. And they were wielding two-handed longswords; only these swords had a much larger handle and a curved, non-tapering blade with no perpendicular hilt. They also wielded every weapon mentioned above except for axes, which were exclusive to the Dwarves and Rohirrim in the movies. I'd multiquote, but I don't know how.

I think WETA did a fantastic job. Any other team and you people would be complaining about everything. Their models were fantastic, their miniature sets were fantastic, everything they did was of the highest quality. In my opinion (and yes, I know it's only an opinion), the visual design in the movies only ever compliments the book, and never, ever, ever ruins my interpretations. Just remember, they're adaptations of the books, not screenplays.

The first time I saw Minas Tirith in the cinema I gasped, because I couldn't believe how perfect it looked.

EDIT: Another thing I noticed with the Eldar swordsmen; their head are a little too far back and could be the slightest bit bigger. Not at all a major problem though, just me being picky.

It was cool, and many people find it cool. It seems that you have different definition of being lame,do you?

Regarding armour: chainmal offers limited protection compared to the plate armour, and so does scale armour, which is even worse. IMO elves would be extremly lame/stupid if they wore only chainmal, which could hardly protect them from attacks with blunt weapons, unless of course it's mithril.

In which way? I don't find my way of perciping elves twisted or else, I can still have my own. And, BTW, they look similar to what I imagined, and it seems that many other people are same: just google fan pics of elves and see how close they resemble those form movie.

The Noldor swordsmen and archers look fantastic!
my only complaint though is that the Elven spearmen have what seems to be smaller versions of the Noldor's swords mounted on long poles. i dont know if that was intentional or not
