I would recommend southern Spain, the Canary Islands and the Netherlands. China, South Korea, and Japan are all good choices as well if you want to travel that far.

Portugal is a fine destination, even in the off-season. France has nice spots too, Italy. There are many places worth to go. It depends a bit what kind of holidays your family perfers. Do they want to see something, travel around, live in a small house or appartement, be in the green or at a sea-side, etc.? Do they like snow and prefer skiing or are they eager to visit all Museums for modern art between Barcelona and Petersburg?
