Show whole map once in a while please ?

I dont like using the cheat to spy on my games (its not modern times where you have satellite's XD ) , so i still use watch towers , but they only are good for you close to you places where you can set them

what i want is theres an event (like the current priest and merchant events) where you have to pay to see the whole map (an event like a spy netwoprk set up etc) , id say it should be at least once per 5 turns where the event pop up ?

i REALLY want to know whats going on in the world once in a while , and its reasonable as any news can be spread in a 10 years period even back then right ? XD

I just think that "maps" shouldn't be something that's traded, it's something that's given. Unit positions, etc should remain shrouded in FOW, imo, but I never understood how a country could keep maps away from me.

Or at least make it so that Allies automatically are sharing maps with you in "real-time". Can't stand being told I can't have maps by an ally.

But I can definitely see why you shouldn't be able to see unit movement of other factions from distances.

Get a Diplomat to run the world for you? He might get good skills from it ?

Just move your view to the ocean or something then do toggle fow, that's what I do.

Ever hear of "spys" ???

I dont use them much. They die too often.

Spys don't die if you just have them exploring instead of trying to enter cities. I use them all the time, they are great for scoping out fogged out regions on the map. You can also use priests and diplomats for the same purpose.

I got use to playing DLV. There the spies cost 500 upkeep when in enemy territory. It gets freakishly expensive to keep them around.

You could always conqure the areas you want to know more about....
