well here are a couple of my Novgorod campiagn against the HRE.

I have taken 3 cities from them and sacked 3 more along with there capitol
also ive defended against 4 stacks intent on taking my new and only fortress. lol.

On sader news last night at around 10:46pm Istvan was rushed to Intensive Care do to massive heart faliure. No official statments have been givinen by the Repulic however it is clear that the heart faliure was caused by a giant pike bieng rammed into it. There has also been no word as to whether foul play is suspected.
Once again Istvan the Merciless was pronounced dead at the Novgorod Army Barracks. All schools and public offices shall remain open during this crysis.

The only general to inflict a crushing defeat on me in Vanilla (True, it was a crap army, but Istvan must have picked his battles well!), but in SS he's far more terrifying to behold- many a time I've gone into battle with him, crushed his army at a great price, and he escapes.

In all honesty, I thought him so much trouble that I've left Hungary alone. I think he died of old age, but we'll see

Before this thread i never payed to much attention to Istvan, however after looking at it and starting an England game i decided to give him a try. So i sent Adela Plantagenet to Hungary (gaining alot of charm along the way ). The i successfully married her to mr.Istvan, took me a while to get him back to england and set him up with a simple army and send him of to Ireland to fight . I decided to land near Dublin and face what looks like there main army head on, After a night time battle he was victorious!



Needless to say he picked up some pretty good traits after that battle and conquest of now English Dublin

The first thing I do with every new mod I download is make sure Istvan is in it (damn name projects take him out I think). No matter who I start with I marry or bribe Istvan then send him northeast on a crusade and make a second Empire. I have also killed my faction heir many times so Istvan can rule. Even with his alcoholic trait he always is better than everybody else which is probably why he drinks thats alot of pressure being the best. My current game I didn't go for Istvan I instead got some other 1 named general who is doing good and has a son name Wolf that will be of age soon so I have high expectations for him.
