Thread: Other important states during the 18th century

Default Other important states during the 18th century

As some of you know, the composition of playable factions in ETW mostly consists of factions that had a significant impact on the period. So my question is, what were the other states that had made an impact on the 18th century besides:

    -Britain
    -Prussia
    -France
    -Spain
    -America
    -Ottoman Empire.
    - Sweden
    - United Provinces(Netherlands)
    - Russia
    - Venice
    - Poland-Lithuania.
BTW, what contribution (other than cultural perhaps) did Venice & Spain made during this period? (No offence intended)

    sorry i wrote that wrong!!!

Anyway I don't think Poland will be a major power because by the end on the 18th century it was divided up between Russia, Austria and Prussia and it was erased from the map for 123 years!

Spain owned alot of South America, and battled with England and France a bit over territories in the Caribbean. But I don't think they were very involved in the colonization of Africa or anything like that.
Venice wasn't up to much because they were recovering from a major costly plague, but they were a small economical power. So basically, the Venetians best contribution in this time period was the city of Venice, which is always a wonderful place to visit.

The final list of the playable factions is yet to be finalised/made public.

I notice that you have 11 factions, though I heard they'll only have 10 playable factions. Do you have a reference and link to this? My guess is that Venice won't be included.

Yeah same Venice shouldn't be a playable faction unless you unlock it.

I've got a great one that isn't on the playable list, AUSTRIA. i mean like Venice was more important than Austria in the 18th century

Spain was owner of most of south and central America including south of today's USA and also had the third fleet in the world with the biggest ship the Santisima Trinidad altought his army wasn't very good i don't think that you can compare it with Venice that was very small althought it defated turkish fleets at the begin of 18 century

It's from the official forums. It can be found on the 1st post of the thread entitled "Facts about Empire Total War."

Austria, Bavaria, Saxony, Hanover,Savoy, Swiss, Denmark, Naples, Poland.....
You ask for steak, I bring you fish. You say that you think steak is better than fish. I say that fish is much more popular than steak so obviously it's better. You say that no matter how good the fish is it can't be better at being steak than the actual steak we used to serve. I say that's just your perception and you're entitled to it but you should accept that fish is the future and that's good. You begin to say something but I stab you in the eye with a fork and run into the kitchen.
