    I'm new to this forum and not really a computer genius. I was wondering if there were any posts or if someone could walk me through setting my computer so I can add mods to it. I cant seem to get them to work.

    What is the specific problem you are having in getting them to work? In general, it's better to ask a question like this on the mod's forum since different mods are installed differently.

    Most likely they are not working because I am doing them wrong. Basically I just downloaded a mod and put it into the m2tw folder in my comp and tried to "unpack" them and extract the files but nothing happened....

    So the mod you're trying to use comes in a zip file? If it's done like this, then extract it outside of your Program Files. Maybe on your desktop for example. Then move the folder into your mods folder. For example, let's say you're trying to play SS6.3. The file directory should be Medieval II Total War/mods/SS6.3.

    I downloaded the game from gamestop it is the gold edition but I can't find any of the game folders on my computer? Can I still put a mod on it? Looking at getting ss and third age mod.

    Are you taking about Gamestop Now? If you do, you can find the location of your installed games somewhere in the settings.

    I use Gamestop Now myself, and I see no reason to believe that Medieval II doesn't use a standard folder. So yes, when you find it, you can most certainly install mods there.

    Rumor has it that here at the TWC, there is a small script mod, thanks to which in the recruitment of troops in urban population decreased proportionally to the number of soldiers recruited (as happens in the game Rome: TW). Tell me (and if you can show) Do not lie to rumors, there is this mod at all?

    Chivalry II is very nice, it's historical taste is better than most other major mods and it's quite challenging no matter who you play, unfortunately it hasn't been updated in a long time.

    HURB (Historical Units / Regions / Buildings) is an on going project as a Staineless Steel submod, it's aim is as it's name suggest, to aim for historical accuracy in just about every aspect of the game and usually making it a lot more fun / interesting in the process, on a more practical level this means.

    A. massive map redraw to reflect medieval population purportion and balance more reasonablly. this generally involve reducing regions in places with less population concentration (say... British Isles, Scandinavia, North Africa, Arab Penisula, Eastern Steppes) and concentrating them mroe in regions that did have more population (most obviously, Northern Med Coast and France in general.) and/or an extremely complex political situation that could justify more reigon than usual (most obviously Anatolia / Levant)


    B. complete revamp of the recruitment system, completely scrapping CA's ridiculas recruitment. and making very significant changes to rosters in the process with many new units.

    C.revamp the building tree almost completely as well. at least twice as many buildings can now be built, a much wider variety of economics building setup in a more complex matter so that you actually have to plan a little bit when building.

    99.99% sure that this is not possible to do.
    This is sad ( Medieval 2 is fantastic game, but i want more micromanagement with my units.

    Not enough! Especially with Stainless Steel

    Then another question
    Does experience system in Shogun more complex?
    Is there any limit for unit experience, or only for ranks?
    For example if my unit tooke place in many battles then its exp is 100500 or not?

    Direct questions about Shogun to the Shogun board.

    The limit for experience is 9 chevrons. Any experience after that will not increase a unit's effectiveness.
