Another good number out of the Sublimnal Verses is Vermillion pt. 2, which proves they can do a good slower song. Very melodic, and very sad.

haha yes, they can actually get quite deep. Vermillion is a great song. I also like "Wait and Bleed" and "Killers are silent" if we're going to talk about relatively slower paced songs.

Yea, although I never considered Wait and Bleed a 'slow' song. Compared to the rest of Slipknot I can understand how you would. I'm not sure if it's in the Subliminal Verses but back to their hard stuff, I enjoy Before I Forget as well.

Hmm. If I would have to say what my favorite song of theirs would be...I would have to say Pulse of the Maggots...but Heretic Anthem and Eyeless are right up there as well.

Mine would probably be Duality, because it's the first song I truly liked by them and it always hits me right in the sternum when it reaches the climax and he yells "I push my finger into my EEEEEEEEYYYYYYEEEEEEESSS!!!!!!!"

Many a time I have gone on killing sprees in CoD2 and Unreal Tournament listening to this song.

Coming in second I suppose would be Pulse of the Maggots, sometimes I think it's better.

This music is great right before football games. It gets me in a violent mood. Sometimes instead of making alignment calls I sometimes found myself playing the song over in my head!

I used to listen to Metal, but somehow I never found music in general to be controversial in a good way, it was mostly attention-seeking sort of stuff -- I couldn't even understand the hoarse lyrics, let alone care much about the lyrics as much as I cared about the [SYNTHETIC] guitar riffs.

I can respect that, you grow out of music sometimes.

I like the first album. I really do.

    I can't help it.

As soon as I hear Eyeless and Micks intro, shivers, shivers all the way down my back.

But Vol 3 is very good.

I do like the radio edits better though.

The songs sound more structured and have less fill.

I mean I love slipknot, but the first album left me hungry, not satisfied.

I know what you mean. it seems there is less -almost delay- time between verses.

My favourites from Vol 3 are:

    Danger - Keep Away

    And

    Prelude

It's amazing how much more sever and dark, they are for a acoustic songs.

Even more than any heavier song they've done.

Before I Forget is on Guitar hero right?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Also, I think there should be a slipknot smiley like this:

except with all the band members and their masks. Who's with me?!

I gotta admit, that song was pretty good, unlike the hideous teenage crap they spew out 99% of the time.

I have noticed this too. I think it's because for once one is able to hear the lyrics. Almost as if they wanted to be heard for this particular song. I picture tham as being insecure about themselves ironically. Their music suggests a history of if at least (possibly could have been the victims of childhood bullies? Left behind Full suggests it...).

For slipknot's response to haters, please listen to "People = ". It basically sums up how they deal with them.
