Changing Province Name

I was trying to change certain names of provinces in the barbarian_invasion_regions_and_settlement_names.txt file.

I found out that it only works with new games. Are there any files that need to be altered in order for savegames to recognize such a change?

have you deleted the map.rwm from the world/maps/base folder?

Changing city names with the text files only shows up on new games because those files are only read when you start a new campaign. Though you can change the names manually in-game by clicking on it in the building/recruitment window, if you have edit settlement names enabeled in your prefrences file. Also, I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that you can't change city names through scripts.
