OK, you need to install the CA stra option which is found in the options folder. See how you go with that.

Juliane Heracli! it has failed-it still crashes! (don't worry about the custom battles-that's perfect and the units are awesome-guess I'll make do, for now)

I had this problem with Rio's dark age mod too(that one was fixed though): forgot that my computer tends to erase the vanilla files needed to run, that come with any BI mod (got 3 of the IBFD's, 1 to go: R.Orbis)

Another problem may be the quotes file found in the text folder within the data folder. Try deleting that and see if that helps. It has been known to cause problems for some people.

did it but it made the problem worse, so I undid it...

That is strange. Make sure that you have vanilla RTW and BI with the latest patches and no other mods installed like EB for example.

Our mods require clean RTW/BI files. Some mods modify these files and so may effect the running of IB mods.

So, please enure that you have clean RTW/BI folders then install IJ. See if that works.

ok...I'll do it then.
thing is rio (and IJ) did as you said with a clean BI 1.6..guess I'll just do old fasioned copy and paste..
(that's how i dealt with Rio)
but you have to send a copy of vanilla BI 1.6 files, just in case
