Thread: battle crash

    Default battle crash

I'm quite new to the forum, and new to the mod scene, i've played XGM for several months now, as Macedon.Things ran smoothly at first, but now not only is moving across the map excruciatingly slow- but i'm now stuck, everytime i attempt to fight a battle, half way through the game crashes!

    Can anybody help me out?

    Cheers!

That sounds like a memory leak.

What else do you have running on the PC?

Does a Vanilla game of RTW or BI or Alex run without a problem?

Fix the problem, not the blame!

I have TRW and BI, i've encountered similar problems with RTW, i dont really play BI so can't say. I havent installed any patches(i'm not too hot with the technical stuff) so that might be a factor. The battle runs at normal speed, it then slows down and very soon i find my self looking at my Desktop.:hmmm:

    E: whats a memory leak?

Unknown Soldier is probably correct - memory leaks in the game, or the normal increases in memory demands as battles go on, are too much for your PC to handle. Try turning down your graphics settings. That might help.

Way back when after 2 hours+ of playing EB mod I usually had to reboot the PC as the battle lag became really bad.

Now I've got 2GBytes of Ram and a 512K video card - everything runs like smooth in high detail beauty.

Fix the problem, not the blame!

Very likely its this memory leak or something to do with my memory, because for the past few months i've had a total of 500Mb of Hard drive memory on my laptop- and things havent been running smoothly all-round. I've installed CCleaner, and in a matter of seconds its freed up 4GB, i'm gonna try and play XGM again. Thanks for the help Unknown Soldier

E- No luck i'm afraid, after clearing up 8GB, and doing defragmenting my hard disk, i'm still having the same problems.
    Any advice anyone?
