I'm reading Foam of the Days by Boris Vian. This is a French author, and he is just hilarious! Seriously, I have never read anything as witty and absurd as this book!

Great story. I also really enjoy the authors writing style. \(^o^)/
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.
recently i somehow lost my taste for scientific literature and i`m currently reading rather depressive novels in wich all sorts of horrible things happen to the characters involved
I began reading this a few days ago:

Really liking this so far. Great literary skills IMHO.
An excellent crime novel. Not as good as his first three Gunther tales, but one of the better post war dramas.

I've been wanting to read it for a long time... and preferably in English. But I came across this edition in Portuguese in a book fair, which was the book of the day (and cheaper), hardcover, and bought it.
That's required reading for some class at my college. Creative Writing I would assume, but I'm not sure. As a S.K. fan it looks interesting, I see it all the time in the campus bookstore. I'll have to read it sometime.
Any ways, started reading this yesterday. Such an intriguing disaster. It's derailing me from finishing The Hunger Games, though. Gotta love the cover, haha, really catches the eye.

It's interesting, even if becoming a bit dated two decades after publication. It would be interesting to to see how so of his alarmist predictions have panned out, but I'll be damned if I'm the one going check them out.
I have read Guns Germs and Steel and found that fascinating and this book does foreshadow it. Its definitely worth reading if popular science interests you.
Now reading again:

It's a giant POS. Steinbeck is a less than average novelist, only a few pegs above Stephen King (and I only compare them because somewhere on this page someone said they are reading King for a college level English course, which is ludicrous). If you want to know the novel he ripped off, structurally, to write The Grapes of Wrath, shoot me a VM and I'll tell you.
