pashley1411,
Did you download and install the 1.0A patch? If not, do so.
Then try adding this line to the PDER_1.0.cfg file:
The PDER_1.0.cfg file is in your mods\PDER_1.0 directory and can be opened in Notepad.Code:[game] allusers=1
added patch
how do you add script to that program?
notepad
one moment
when hitting save, error message, "can't create..."
From this Vista Thread:
1.) Right-click on your SEGA folder, and click on "properties". In the this window, click on the "security" tab. You will see an "edit" button with the windows shield on it. Click on that and allow the administrator and other users listed there to alter files by ticking the first box that you see in the panel below the users. Press "apply" and "OK".
did that no difference, same error message to alter pder_1.0.cfg file
I've installed a 'clear' version of Kingdoms, but every time I try to start PDER there is the message:"Medieval 2: Total war encountered an unspecified error and will now exit" does anyone have an idea what could be the reason of this. Thanks for the help...

I have Windows xp and cannot get the game to start--even after waiting more than 10 minutes!!! I get everything, but after selecting my faction (all of them to no avail) the arrowtip cursor just revolves and revolves and revolves...nothing happens. I cannot shut the game down either--does not repsond to CTRL_ALT_DEL either!
Disappointing, but I know others are having the same problem and you are working on a fix.
Look forward to it!
Hey there Tooz, to cut down on installation size, the mod does not come with the map.rwm file needed to start a campaign.
When you start a new campaign, the game generates this file on its own. This can take awhile depending on the computer you're running. It takes me 8-10 minutes to start a new campaign for the first time. But it's a one-time only thing. Once it generates, no need to wait any more.
If you want, here's the link to my map.rwm file - download here.
It needs to go in the PDER_1.0\data\world\maps\base folder.
But like I said, if you're patient, the game will generate its own after awhile
Cheers! Thanks for trying out my mod!
I've already installed the patch

Cool! I'll try this later. I really enjoyed your earlier .04 version for MTW2.

4. DO YOU HAVE YOUR MOD INSTALLED TO A DIRECTORY OTHER THAN THE DEFAULT AS LISTED IN THE INSTALLER (I.E. C: PROGRAM FILES...) No, but I did try both methods--direct into the MTW folder and with a clean vanilla install up to Kingdoms
5. DO YOU HAVE ANY MODS INSTALLED THAT INSTALL FILES TO THE VANILLA M2TW DIRECTORY? IF NOT SURE, PLEASE LIST ANY OTHER MODS YOU MAY HAVE INSTALLED. Of course--that's what a modslut does

7. ANY OTHER INFORMATION YOU FEEL IS PERTINENT/HELPFUL? I'll let you know if this quick fix works

Just to let you and any users of Vista x64 know - the 1.0a patch cures the game not starting up problem, thanks =)

Hey there, mate. Try downloading the patch. That seems to have resolved the problem for most people.
