I am finnaly playing and I must say you AOR is the best availble, much better than BC as there is much more variety, although sadely I downloaded your patch and there is still no sound.

No sound at all? No music? No voices?
Try this.
Copy the contents of your vanilla M2TW sound folder EXCEPT the two events
files. And see if that works.
I would imagine such a thing would be save-game compatible.
EDIT - oh, and the new units don't have voices yet. So if you click on Azat Cavalry, he's not gonna say "Heavy Cavalry" yet. Still have that to do.
As of 1080, the Almoravids (whom the Moors in the game depict) had not yet crossed over to the Iberian Peninsula. Islamic Spain at that time consisted of independent Taifas (petty kingdoms) who were anything but united. The Almoravids were invited by the taifas to help defend themselves against Spain, but the Almoravids saw it as a chance to take their holdings for themselves.
The Moors in PDER start out with a stack near Granada and usually succeed in fairly short order to grab Cordoba and Granada - kickstarting the Reconquista.
Great work, can't wait to try this!
One question : Have you included music from M2TW Kingdoms?
Heehaa! I rolled out of bed at 5 am this morning (GMT) to see if PDER 1.0 was up and running, and it was.
Congratulations on the release. I'm hoping the download will have finished by the time I get home this evening so that I can begin rebuilding the Pax Romana.
great news, Socal !!!! awesome work indeed !
I have started download, it takes more 8 hours
dloading right now...

OK, Socal, it was only matter of waiting enough to let the CPU build the map.rwm.
Not more than 6 minutes, indeed.
Everything now seems to play well.
Very good work.
Just a question: why so many units with multi-turn recruiting time (2 or more years to complete recruiting) ?
Apart that, all the rest is fine for me.
Can we copy the sound folder except the two basic files, also if we have localized versions (italian one, for me), or doing so we risk impredictable engine behaviour? :hmmm:
great release
having much fun right now with aragorn
this is a definite great improvement and your work is very much appreciated
i was wonderin though if one of the patches will include kingdom style castles and fortresses for the european factions in the future.
Whew So it's working for you then! Glad to hear.
And I told you, patience is a virtue And I'd kill for a 6 minute wait. Sometimes it takes well over 10 mins. for me.
Longer recruiting time is to slow down blitzing. Also all levy and feudal units have a 1-turn wait, so it emphasizes the distinction between the two. I wanted to make levies and feudals 0-turn recruitment, but dunno if you can actually do that.
If you wait, you can try something for me...I know that foreign language versions of the game are missing certain accents...
Download these sound files
The vanilla sound files go in the main M2TW data file. And the descr_sounds_accents.txt file goes in your PDER_1.0 data folder.
That file maps the Eastern accents to German and the Scottish accents to English.
I know that localized versions of game are missing those accent types.
If you could try that out, I'd appreciate it.
Make sure to back-up your vanilla sound files just in case.
Are you referring to the stone forts or just new models/textures? Because, if you can believe it, I have not played a single-turn of any Kingdoms campaign.
Purchased it the day it came out here in Brookyn. Took it home, unpacked and started modding it immediately. Once I saw the "new" units in the Crusades campaign and saw that AlphaDelta did a far better job than CA in that department, I had no interest in playing it...
Hi Socal...
I've not been around for a while (was trying Darth Ages... and I was waiting for a new PDER release )... I took a quick look and... wow... what a work done since PDER v0.4!!!
I'll play a bit with it later
Cheers.
I am playing and loving it!
A great mod, Socal, congratulations
