Me and sideman are duking it out in a practice battle and sidemen needs to rebalance missles it turns out (i'd say make them easier to shoot down) Unlike a Fighter they are programned to evade but that programing is predictable unlike a starfighter, so its easier to take down a misle then a fighter controlled by a person with free will.

It actually seems that armor needs to be upped. Otherwise battles will end very quick.
Right now, Its looking like everything is going to be reduced in damage by a whole lot.

I think the problem is that Missles are too hard to shoot down, let just make it so that we assume everyone has ECM systems as well as good targeting for anti missle defence. Plus lets also asssume that there are alot of misses in space.

No, the problem is nothing of the sort. Right now a heavy rail gun could punch through a piece of ultra armor with no problem whatsoever. And they are relatively weak.
A general degradation in attack power is necessary to increase the survivability of a ship in space. (otherwise, a single medium pulse cannon could tear apart a starship in under a minute)
This is the same problem that Rome:TW had when it was first released, too high of attack for their piss poor defense.

Right now a heavy kinetic cannon produces 15 damage/second, in a minute that damage equals 900, meaning that a good sized heavy armored ship would be destroyed in only 90 seconds, from a single cannon. Most ships have 20 or more cannons, meaning that ship would put out 18,000 damage each minute. Which is more damage than any ship can take.

Oh per second? Maybe we could say that accuracy is bit of a problem, so the cannon would only be hitting those big targets every time at a certain range?

Thats a good idea.. Switching it to the damage every 12 seconds.. Thats 5 'damage hits' per minute. Down from 60.. That should make a significant difference without the ruining of the balance like changing the damage or hull strength would result in.

How do I calculate Hull Intergrity for my ships? This is the only factor of warfare I dont really understand yet.

It is the most complex thing in the game, so its not hard to understand why your having trouble with it.
You need these 2 chapters from the Rules thread.
XI. Weapon Information
XII. Armor/Shield/Point Defense Information
First, take the Armor chapter and find out how much base integrity you have, a simple multiplication of Length X Hull integrity(changes based on how heavy your armor is).
Then you take a look at the weaponry chapter and find out how much hull integrity loss your guns total up to. (4x Ultra heavy cannons: 100 loss + 20 medium cannons: 20 loss =120 loss) You then subtract this loss from your base integrity, and you have your Hull points.

Yes, but it would make small guns worthless, since only the big ones would do enough damage to matter.
I think it works as intended now, damage is applied less frequently, and has been reduced slightly, without ruining the balance.
