Problem Installing Retrofit

Hi,

I had to reinstall XP after massive (cross linked files) problems with Vista. Everything in regard to MTWII ran fine under Vista. No problem

Installed MTII/Kingdoms no problem. All of them run.

Installed Retrofit - it crashes 10 seconds after loading screen. So I removed Kingdoms and reinstalled it again - same problem.

Here's the strange part - I had the entire Retrofit/Grand Unit Add On by Yak on the D partition so copied it over AFTER removing all traces of Retro from the registry. Retro runs fine EXCEPT mines have no income- they show 0 and it is true.. I built a mine and there is no income. The Kingdoms/MTWII add on's have mines that are fine.

The other strange part is if I install Grand Unit after Retro - it works though still with the 0 mine income. Retro by itself does not work

Of course the log file has the generic unspecified error. I have no idea about the 48.125 system.io error is with garbage characters? Maybe a problem with the MTWII/1.2 patch install? I hate to reinstall this thing! Takes way too long

If I had a problem with all the Kingdoms add on's I could understand a bad install but now only a problem with Retro. Doesn't make sense. I also noticed via search that a long time ago couple people had problems with Darth/Early LTC showing zero mining income..

I have no idea...sounds like something went whacky with your installation. If Kingdoms works fine by itself, delete your retrofit mod folder, redownload it (in case your archive became corrupted), reinstall it, and then reinstall my mod again. Should work fine, I've never had any problems with the retro mod or my mod, and have never heard of that mine problem.

Wacky is probably a good way to describe it. I reinstalled everything and this time I used the 1.2 - 1.3 patch from the Kingdoms DVD instead of my hard drive copy and it worked. I have never ever seen a piece of software take this long to install. Hours. Luckily I just copied over Retrofit/Grand Unit from my backup and all is fine.

And yeah, it does take forever to install M2TW + Kingdoms, about 45 minutes! lol
