Re: need help [giving a Region to an other faction]
ah do you mean initial regions?
open C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt
search for "faction romans_", here you can see a list of settlements for romans, and the "faction slave", rebel settlements. Just cut-and-paste the regions you want.
don't forget to backup the file

hm so find the real faction name for "epirus" and give the region to romans.
BTW have you tried to move/delete "map.rwm" after the changes?

Re: need help [giving a Region to an other faction]
No, no, no! You are doing it all wrong! :-)
You also have to delete the current garrison from that settlement in the descr_strat, else the game gets confused. You may need to know the x,y coordinates of the settlement so you can find the garrison in the file. But since they are Epirot, the garrisons will be in their army section below their settlement section. The epirots will probably be called the Brutii or Scipii. Don't forget to add your garrison, else they wont be your settlements for too long. Its tricky editting the descr_strat at first, but you will get the hang of it.
If you were a real man, you would edit the descr_strat file so you only start with Roma, your faction leader and hier, no money and no troops. Thats what I do. I love the challenge.

HANDdolo, that is a great idea. As sson as someone can offer wisdom on why I cannot get TE to start (hint-hint) I'll edit the descr_strat and push Rome back to its beginnings
Seriously, could someone swing by my post at the top and suggest what's gone wrong? I've installed loads of mods to RTW and M2TW over the years but TE just wont open :hmmm:

you need a clean installation of rome, patched to version 1.5 and then you can install TE.
