Fantastic material. Will you guys increase unit sizes? The phalanx looks a bit miniscule in your BETA video.

what do you mean for "size"? soldiers number in unit? or their height?

if you select "huge" size option, phalanx size will be 110 for low quality, 92 for medium quality and 80 for high quality.

How come you don't make the phalanx size in accordance to RTW's unit sizes, 240? Also, aren't you prone to invest in bigger unit sizes to make battles more impressive?

RTW never had a 240 limit.

This is what I was hoping for. PCs are getting stronger throughout the years so sooner or later everyone can handle these sizes. I know I can, and my laptop wasn't at all expensive. Larger battles are much more impressionable.

A Roman timeframe almost demands these sizes.

Obviously, you never modded RTW. You could have had a unit of 240 men in the huge size setting, plus 3 officers. You could check that with any RTW modder.

You are right. I just checked. My bad. I mistook it for 200. Sorry.

I was wrong. that are unit size for "normal".
    For "Huge", the values are:
    low quality phalanx = 90 * 2.5 = 225
    medium quality phalanx = 75 * 2.5 = 187
    high quality phalanx = 65 * 2.5 = 162
    barbarian spearman = 100 * 2.5 = 250
    roman imperial legion = 70 * 2.5 = 175
    roman hastati = 85 * 2.5 = 212
    roman principes = 80 * 2.5 = 200
    roman triari = 60 * 2.5 = 150

Cool! That sounds like an interesting balance. Nice to see variation in unit size instead of all factions having 240-man infantry cohorts.

Yes, that is a very interesting unit size variation. I look forward to playing the mod. By the way, last time you said that the beta testers have 120 turns left. Where are they now?

Haha, Petroniu, I feel bad for you. Looking back through this thread I can clearly see you've been the most dedicated and closely observant fan of this mod for time it was in development.

Well, I really loved the possibilities that the Med2 engine can offer and when I saw that an ancient era mod was developed on it I was constantly here trying to support the devs not to quit. Now that it seems so close to release, you can understand my growing impatience.
