Where should the situation of santisima trinidad, all most sinking a British ship be from?
Any way, later in 1805, then santisima trinidad was rather fast made useless durring the battle of Trafalga.
Its 140 kanons (If I recall correctly) was rather small size, so it was outgunnede by the British, seams to be a typical Spanish problem hehe.
Battle of Sjællands Odde 1808.
The Danish 66 canon "Prins Christian Frederik" in the middle fighting desperatly (and loss) against the British 68 canon "Stately" (Flagship) to the right, the 68 canon "Nassau" (Former Danish "Holsten", biter thing) to the left and the 44 canon "Quebeck" frigat to the fare left.
All so 3 other smaller British Frigat joined the attack.
Higgings.
Geoff Hunt is by far the best naval artist around

I'm so excited about naval combat in ETW that I will be tempted to not even pay attention to the main campaign or land battles... I won't be auto-resolving any naval battles for some time!!!

You have to love those American super frigates. We really hurt British pride with our Naval victories in the war of 1812. Granted Britain couldn't commit ships of the line to the Atlantic against us, but given the fact that many famous British Captains earned some of their more famous exploits at the helm of Frigates, it was quite shocking for the upstart young American Navy to thrash British Post-Captains in their own frigates =D.
yes, I suppose it is an achievement to defeat a massively outgunned enemy.... the next time an equal frigate fight happened the Americans were thoroughly thrashed and lost USS Chesapeake. Having said all that, the American frigates were superior in design, which Britain would soon seek to copy, and their crews were better motivated. However, once the use of super-frigates had been discovered Britain started to construct and convert its own ships of the line it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if one of the American frigates had met one of the new 60-gun frigates...
Also, many of the pictures posted are far outside Empires time frame; but nice pictures all the same!
