That can a take bit to solve. Try some custom battles with just one unit each. Use different units, if they all crash, then the usual question: have you unpacked the game and forgotten to delete the geography files?
If you can pinpoint which unit, then you have to check the animations as Ishan suggest.

Sounds a bit weird because you were not getting a crash while loading a battle but in a battle after clicking the start button. Anyways cool.

Yes, very weird... after removing some additional loading screens and quotes, worked perfectly...

    Thank you very much...

You need to amend descr_quotes_lookup if you have more then the regular number (120) of quotes. That's all there is to it.

Squid once told me that all lookup files are not used in M2TW that is they are RTW left overs.
I haven't used them at all so i know it's true.

This one is the notable exception, trust me. It caught me for a loop as well. As long as you only got 120 quotes you are fine. Add one more and you have a crash. Add that one (two actually - author and quote) lines to the lookup file and all is fine again.

agreed - actually the enums and lookups weren't generally used in the later versions of RTW/BI either, but the quotes one was different - and also if I remember correctly it was CASE SENSITIVE.... so watch out for correct capital letters... gets very very annoying to bug hunt something you think is due to script/battle load only to eventually discover its just the damned quotes!

Yep, took me two days of painstakingly adding back one modded file after the other into a new mod folder.

Oh yeah i remember now there was one guy who just wanted to one more quote but couldn't do that and we were bored to death in explaining him the same thing over and over again, lastly the lookup file did the job for him iirc.

Crash at the end of the loading bar, no error message, the last thing I did was try to add new units but I took out the latest bit of code and it's still not working.

Help is very much appreciated, here is my log: (yes, I know there is a rather long list of errors, but none of them are fatal)

The script is starting up, maybe rename the script to disable it and try again (unless it only consists of the radar restriction).

Actually, I realized that the log hadn't reloaded and found the error quickly, thanks though! I have another now, have you ever seen an error message like this:

    Code:
    14:30:13.000 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/medieval_world/data/export_descr_buildings.txt, at line 3582, column 5
Building descriptions must include 'castle_port' building strand
I'm going through the process of changing over to 1 settlement type, so all "castle" references are gone from EDB and descr_strat.

You cannot remove both the port building trees from the EDB. Instead invalidate their building by removing the faction requirements - delete the faction requirements within the parenthesis (do that for all levels):

    c_port city requires factions { }

Hi guys. Does somebody know what does this system.log message mean???

Building DB error - culture db max settlement level differs from building db max settlement level for faction aztecs (bdg city vs clt huge_city)

Looks like difference between the EDB and descr_strat.
